Job Summary

The Business Continuity Professional is a key member of the IT Service Management team, responsible for supporting the Disaster Recovery Function. This role ensures rapid recovery from disruptions caused by natural or man-made disasters. The professional collaborates with all organizational units to perform business impact analyses, understanding the potential consequences of disruptions to various business functions.

Job Responsibilities



  • Collaborate with stakeholders to create comprehensive disaster recovery plans tailored to the organization's needs. These plans outline procedures for business continuity, data recovery, and the restoration of critical functions following a disaster
  • Manages and monitors the resolution of deficiencies identified during disaster recovery tests or implementation and assists in testing business-critical processes systems, applications, and data recovery plans.
  • Supports a comprehensive Disaster Recovery Program, bolsters program value, and expands current capabilities.
  • Designs, implements and maintains an annual exercise/testing schedule that reports and captures actual timelines of events, identifying gaps in recovery, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Documents all disaster recovery activities and creates detailed reports to track progress and identify areas for improvement
  • Trains staff on disaster recovery procedures and protocols and facilitates exercise testing.
  • Coordinates recovery efforts after a disaster has occurred to minimize downtime and data loss.
  • Keeps current with the latest industry trends and advancements in the field of disaster recovery to ensure the organization is using the most effective strategies.
  • Conducts thorough risk assessments to identify potential vulnerabilities and assess the impact of various disasters on the organization



Job Qualifications



  • 3-5 years of experience in Disaster Recovery or a related field.
  • Bachelor's degree in business or a related field and/or commensurate work experience.
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.



Location

Hybrid defined as three or more days per week in the office.
