 We're looking for a skilled Custom Millwork Production Lead to take charge of day-to-day operations in our millwork shop while also coordinating seamlessly with the field team during deliveries and installations. This is a position that requires strong leadership in the shop and hands-on coordination in the field to ensure a smooth transition from fabrication to final install.
 Essential Functions & Responsibilities  Shop Responsibilities  
 Lead the custom millwork team in building high-quality cabinetry, casework, trim, and architectural elementsSchedule and oversee daily shop production activities, ensuring adherence to project timelinesInterpret shop drawings and communicate technical details clearly to the teamMaintain quality control throughout fabrication, assembly, and finish prep stagesOversee material take-offs and coordinate with procurement to ensure timely deliveriesMaintain safety standards, tool maintenance schedules, and general shop organization Field Coordination Responsibilities 
 Act as the primary liaison between the shop and field teamsCoordinate delivery logistics and ensure all components are ready for transport and installSupport field crews during install prep, site measurements, and on-site adjustmentsConduct field visits as needed to verify dimensions, troubleshoot install issues, or review site conditionsCommunicate with project managers, superintendents, and clients to align expectations and resolve issues quicklyEnsure proper handling, protection, and finishing of millwork components on-site Non-essential Functions & Responsibilities  
 Assist with General Shop MaintenanceHelp clean and organize workspaces as needed.Support machine lubrication and dust collection maintenance.Provide Occasional Cross-TrainingOffer guidance to team members unfamiliar with CNC equipment or millwork processes.Fill in for other roles during absences or low workload periods.Participate in Team MeetingsAttend safety or production meetings not directly related to immediate job duties.Provide input on workflow improvements or training ideas.Support Material HandlingOccasionally assist with receiving or organizing raw materials and hardware.Help move finished products to staging or delivery zones.Engage in Light Administrative TasksUpdate spreadsheets, job logs, or time-tracking forms when required.Print job tickets or labels for production use.Join optional equipment or software demonstrations.Participate in non-mandatory professional development sessions.Contribute to Culture & MoraleAssist in organizing team lunches, safety celebrations, or holiday events.Represent production in cross-departmental committees. Education, Work Experience, & Physical Requirements 
 Education: High school diploma or GED; completion of a carpentry apprenticeship program is preferred.Experience: At least three years of experience in carpentry, with a focus on finish carpentry.Technical Skills: Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings; skilled in using hand and power tools safely and effectively.Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting heavy materials, climbing, and working at various heights.Attention to Detail: Exceptional precision and attention to detail to ensure high-quality finishes.Problem-solving: Strong analytical skills to address challenges and find effective solutions on the job.Communication: Excellent verbal communication skills to interact with team members, supervisors, and clients professionally.Licensing: Depending on regional regulations, a valid carpenter's license or certification may be required.Shop floor and office environment; occasional lifting (up to 50 lbs.).May require extended hours based on project deadlines.
