Work Location: This role works from our corporate office in Akron, Ohio every Tuesday and Wednesday and requires a local candidate. On other weekdays the role works remotely.

Role Objective

The Credit and Rebate Analyst is responsible for analyzing distributor data to ensure the accuracy and compliance of rebate transactions within the organization. This role involves creating and maintaining Reports and Analytics to identify trends and aid in identifying discrepancies, auditing rebate processes and providing recommendations for improvements to enhance financial accuracy and efficiency.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities


  • Reporting and Analytics: Create and maintain analytic and trend reports on rebates and credits processed, paid and denied



  • Data Analysis: Analyze and interpret rebate data to identify trends, variances and discrepancies and provide actionable insights. Identify gaps in distributor rebate submission and determine root cause. Identify spend patterns and create forecasts based on trends.



  • Audit Credit and Rebate Transactions: Review and audit credit and rebate transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and distributor agreements



  • Compliance Monitoring: Ensure all rebates processed adhere to relevant financial regulations and standards via systematic and manual verifications and auditing. Engage with distributor partners to verify rebate submissions



  • Identify Cost Savings and/or Cost Avoidance Opportunities: Review processed rebates for non-compliant submissions to avoid overpayments. Identify and investigate submissions outside of established standards



  • Documentation: Maintain detailed records of audit processes and procedures, audit findings and prepare comprehensive audit reports



  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks in rebate processes and recommend mitigation strategies



  • Process Improvement: Identify process gaps and opportunities for improvement in the rebate process



  • Cross functional Collaboration: Collaborate with finance, sales, pricing and FP&A teams to improve rebate management processes, systems and compliance



  • Training and Support: Provide training and support to staff on rebate processes and compliance requirements



Education and Experience

* Bachelor' s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred; with degree, no prior experience required

* In lieu of degree, three (3) years' prior analysis or accounting experience required

* Previous experience in SAP preferred

* Advanced capability in Excel or Access required

* Proficiency in Business reporting or Data Visualization software (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, etc.) preferred

Supervision/Coordination


  • Communicates with internal and external customers verbally and electronically



  • Internal contact with multiple teams including Bid & Rebate, Credit & Collections, Finance, Pricing & Administration and Sales
