Rogers Behavioral Health in Wausau is looking for our next Director of Outpatient Services. This role leads and is accountable to disciplines for the operational and clinical components of all service delivery for the outpatient site(s) assigned. Coordination with clinical care services and administrative functions are required consistently, including key performance indicator (KPI) understanding & accountability, providing care access, ensuring quality clinical delivery, and continuity of care for patients. Efforts in planning, deploying, assessing, and problem-solving activities that benefit stakeholders of the mission (employees, patients, and families) are critical to this role while supporting strong community relationships and the excellence of the organization's reputation. Job Duties & Responsibilities: Maintain site and organization standard operating procedures to support meeting clinical and operational metrics, including components that drive the results of regularly occurring service activities. Preserve actions of clinical approach and treatment integrity that come from the use of therapeutic interventions. Support clinical service leadership in milieu and crisis management, setting expectations, and managing resources to complete site responsibilities. Coordinate intra-departmental/cross-functional assistance and communication. Clinical Services Oversight
  • Ensure staff receive high quality supervision according to regulatory requirements and organizational standards.
  • Ensure treatment team meetings (TTMs) are completed to support multidisciplinary collaboration.
  • Ensure quality of clinical treatment is maintained by adhering to standard clinical practices and Rogers' treatment protocols through use of gemba/fidelity monitoring completed by clinical supervisors.
  • Coordinate with senior clinical director and compliance leadership to ensure organizational standards and regulatory requirements are met.
  • Ensure adequate support for training and development of clinical staff.
  • Collaboration with medical staff and other healthcare professionals.
Operational Services Oversight
  • Admissions oversight and patient placement into programs.
  • Understand trends, local market(s), referents, and demand from community, managing patient capacity to meet organizational expectations.
  • Ensure training and development of non-clinical staff.
  • Ensure compliance adherence and follow-up including patient complaints, grievances, and investigations.
  • Participate in annual budgeting process with accountability to financial performance expectations.
  • Responsible for physical plant upkeep and compliance in conjunction with supporting department resources.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of program conceptualization and operational sustainability.
  • Proficiency with software, systems, and reports to consolidate and synthesize information into action.
Community Engagement and Relations
  • Participate in and support community development strategy and activities.
  • Participate in committees, groups, and/or professional organizations to establish a leadership presence and networking opportunities.
  • Understand and act on referral information, patient feedback, and care-related concerns.
Employee Recruitment and Management
  • Provide consultation and assistance in the recruitment process.
  • Conduct interviews that are comprehensive, fair, and lead to a timely recruitment decision.
  • Participate in the assessment of applicant's qualifications, professional aptitude, and overall quality.
  • Ensure proper hiring, training, and performance improvement is conducted and interacting with employees in sensitive, positive manner that promotes a team environment.
  • Lead by example and participate in workload completion when necessary.
Understanding of Joint Commission, agency, and state compliance regulations
  • Serves as resource regarding compliance standards relevant to the clinic and/or staff and patient care delivery.
  • Participate in and/or lead meetings to increase involvement and awareness of regulations.
  • Apply improvement modeling and concepts to department functions.
Communication and professional conduct
  • Written and verbal skills demonstrate succinctness and clarity around complex issues, communicating in a professional manner.
  • Demonstrate organizational skills that promote timely response to inquiries.
  • Attempt to resolve individual issues with peers in a positive, calm manner, with focus on solutions.
  • Communicate concerns and provide solutions for same.
  • Project professional image by wearing appropriate professional attire.

Additional Job Description:

Education/Training Requirements: Required
  • Master's Degree in Behavioral Sciences (Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, etc.) or a related discipline
  • License-eligible or actively licensed clinical social worker (LCSW), marriage and family therapist (LMFT), or professional counselor (LPCC), or related credentials in the state in which the clinic is located.
  • 4 years of experience linked to operations management.
  • 4 years clinical experience in evidenced-based treatment, providing direct-care delivery.
  • 2 years in supervisory role providing either direct clinical supervision or leading licensed/associate therapists.
  • American Heart Association CPR certification within thirty (30) days of hire. Bi-annual re-certification is required.
  • Training in Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NCI) within sixty (60) days of hire/transfer. Annual re-certification is required.
Preferred
  • Advanced degree or training (e.g.,-Master's, Ph.D, Psy.D.) in Health Administration, Psychology, Behavioral Sciences, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of specialized interventions (e.g., prolonged exposure (PE), exposure and response prevention (ERP), behavioral activation (BA)).
  • 2 years of experience working with high-acuity populations and/or in residential or inpatient settings.
Licensed Clinical Social Worker - Cert, Licensed Professional Counselor - Cert, Lic Marriage and Family Therapist - Cert
