Storeroom Clerk 1

BASIC FUNCTION:

Sort and store incoming materials in an orderly fashion in Storeroom, warehouses, and outdoor secured area; distribute as requested to appropriate personnel; assist personnel in finding correct materials; maintain computerized inventory control system; assist Head Receiving and Shipping Coordinator in day-to-day receiving functions. Provide quality customer service for all customers (internal and external), ensuring all procedures are followed.

NATURE & SCOPE:

Under the guidance of the Routine Facilitator, must be knowledgeable of certain safety requirements so proper protective equipment can be issued. Notes trends in most and least used items, reliability, and longevity of certain supplies. May recommend changing suppliers, vendors, reorder points, maximum quantities on hand, etc. Must be aware of the location of material stored outside the immediate Storeroomarea and the other warehouses. This position is part of a team thatis responsible for over $3 million of inventory in the Storeroom that is critical to the operations of this plant. Proper control of the Storeroominventory is essential to minimize downtime.

This position's minimum requirements are:

• High School diploma (or GED)
• Basic math and recording keeping skills
• Basic computer and keyboarding skills for data entries
• Two to three years experience in auto parts or industrial parts warehouse
• Working knowledge of purchasing procedures and computerized inventory control systems
• Mechanical and/or Electrical aptitude helpful

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Maintain the computerized inventory control system on all inventory; perform cycle counting and numerous cross-checks to ensure accuracy. Add new stock items to the computerized control system and locate the proper area in the Storeroomto stock these items.
• Maintain accuracy with inventory. Errors in counting or misplacing crucial parts, supplies, and components could cause downtime at great expense to the Company and would adversely affect the daily production schedule.
• Distribute parts, materials, supplies, and equipment to all personnel at the service window. Assist in solving maintenance problems with knowledge of Storeroom parts.
• Move received materials to appropriate shelves, bins, and storage locations within the Storeroom, warehouses, outside secured areas, and bulk storage areas.
• Pick up and deliver parts and supplies as necessary.
• Operate lift truck, assorted hand tools, and hydraulic hose crimping machine.
• Help team by participating and maintaining 5S activities.
