The Opening Environmental Restoration LLC is seeking an Emergency Response Environmental Technician based in Indianapolis, IN to support hazardous waste clean-up, site remediation, equipment decontamination, and handling of hazardous materials. This role requires on-call availability 24/7/365, with a strong emphasis on traveling and overnight emergency response as needed. Why work for Environmental Restoration?
Key Responsibilities * Health & Safety Priority: Adhere to the PROS - Pause, Review, Observe, Start safety program to ensure health and safety are always the top priority. * Emergency Response: Perform both non-emergency and emergency response activities involving hazardous materials. * Labor-Intensive Work: Engage in physically demanding tasks in all weather conditions and in confined spaces, low-clearance areas, and at heights. * Equipment Operation: Operate light and heavy equipment, including skid steers, forklifts, and pressure washers. * Routine Inspections & Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on equipment. * Warehouse & Facility Maintenance: Assist with warehouse maintenance, stock supplies, and perform building maintenance. * On-Call Availability: Must be available 24/7/365 for on-call emergency response, including weekends and after-hours, and be ready to respond to emergencies immediately. * Travel and Overnight Response: Frequent travel is required for emergency response assignments, including the possibility of overnight stays at job sites. You must be able to respond within 60 minutes to the Indianapolis, IN office when called. * Timely Response: Ensure timely and accurate completion of all assigned tasks, especially during emergency response situations. What does it take to work at Environmental Restoration? * Pre-Employment Screening: Must pass a pre-employment drug screening, criminal background check, and physical exam. * Legally Eligible to Work: Must be legally eligible to work in the United States (verified through E-Verify). * Certification: Willingness to obtain OSHA (40-hour) Certification (Reimbursement program available). * Physical Requirements: Ability to work in a physically demanding role, including lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds. * Protective Equipment: Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including respiratory protection. * Driving Requirements: Excellent driving history is mandatory. * Work Flexibility: 24/7/365 on-call availability is required to respond to emergencies promptly, with the flexibility to travel and stay overnight as necessary. EXPERIENCE o Environmental or hazardous waste experience, and certifications (e.g., OSHA 40hr HAZWOPER) are a plus. o CDL and experience operating heavy equipment is a plus. o Ability to interpret and follow written and oral instructions and assignments.
