Internal Communications Senior Consultant

Job Summary:

The Internal Communications Senior Consultant, under limited supervision, is responsible for leading strategic performance-based communications plans aligned with competitive business strategies and key priorities to achieve business goals. The role develops and executes comprehensive strategic communications in collaboration with company/business unit leaders. The role guides the design and delivery of communications, including but not limited to executive speaking engagements, presentations, business events, storytelling, and social media content. Serves as an expert resource for other Corporate Communication team members and may serve as a direct manager for a team of up to two employees.

Job Responsibilities:



  • Develops and leads strategic outcome-based communications plans aligned with competitive business strategies and key priorities to achieve business goals.
  • Partners on delivery of communication plans in collaboration with company/business unit leaders, including executive speaking engagements, presentations, business events, storytelling, and social media content.
  • Ensures that communications are consistent and aligned with the company's brand and messaging guidelines.
  • Develops compelling content with clear and effective messaging and visual support to deliver campaigns that promote new initiatives, policies, or organizational changes.
  • Consults on change management communication strategies for products, services, technology, utilizes an agile mindset, and acts as a change leader.
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of communication strategies to measure the reach and impact of internal communications, identifying areas for improvement and reporting on key performance indicators.
  • Develops recommendations for enhancement and adjusts plans as needed to ensure communications reach the intended audience and have the desired impact and business outcomes.
  • Stays updated on industry trends and best practices to continuously improve communication efforts and serves as an expert resource for other Corporate Communication team members, providing guidance and support.
  • Oversees the operation and content of platforms like the company intranet, internal newsletters, and social media, ensuring they are relevant, engaging and current.
  • May perform talent management responsibilities for up to two employees including navigation of employee related issues that impact morale and work environment to ensure a high performing team. This includes hiring and selection, succession planning, performance and compensation management, and employee development and career coaching, as required. Manages priorities and workload distribution and removes barriers that impede progress.


Job Qualifications:



  • 10+ years of experience in Communications or a related field.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Strategic Communications or a related field and/or commensurate work experience.


Licenses and Certifications:



  • Certified Strategic Communication Management Professional (CSCMP) (Preferred)
  • Communication Management Professional (CMP) (Preferred)
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) (preferred)
