Senior Managed Care Coordinator

The Senior Managed Care Coordinator (Team Lead) will work closely with the departments Supervisors and Managers to develop ongoing training of Medical Management representatives to ensure proper delivery to Elderplan/Homefirst Providers. The Senior Managed Care Coordinator is required to respond to request, answer questions, address complaints and concerns of the staff. The Senior Managed Care Coordinator is expected to communicate with their supervisor and keep them informed of any issues or problems that may arise amongst the team.

  • College Degree or Equivalent.
  • Two-years of related Customer Service Experience.
  • Prior experience in a health care setting preferred.
  • Familiarity with utilization management/case management.
  • Knowledge of HealthRules Payor, Altriusta, HHAX, Word and Excel.
  • Type an Average of 55 wpm.
  • Good customer service skills.
  • Ability to be empathetic and understanding.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Good analytical abilities.
  • Ability to handle confidential aspects of the position.
  • Ability to work closely with different professionals as part of an interdisciplinary health care team.
  • Appropriately allocates resources, maximizes efficiency and contains costs.
  • Ability to work independently while recognizing issues having departmental or organizational impact.
  • Ability to assess members needs and identify opportunities for recommending alternative levels of care.
  • Ability to maintain collegial relationships and work in an interdisciplinary team environment.
