Hours: Per Diem

Shift: Flexible shifts & hours

Location: Visiting Nurse Association - Fairhaven, MA

**Available to regular status employees who are scheduled to work a minimum of 24 hours.

Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Director, Supportive Care Services or designee and within agency and department policies and procedures, assume responsibility for the primary care of assigned Supportive Care patients and families. Assess, develop, implement and evaluate an individualized plan of care to maximize the comfort and health of the Supportive Care patient and family. Responsible for identifying patient/family needs and for providing supportive care in accordance with the attending Physicians orders, Plan of Care and Supportive Care policies and procedures.



Qualifications

  • Graduate of an NLN accredited school of Nursing. Current RN licensure in the Commonwealth of MA and RI is required.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing or currently enrolled in a program leading to a B.S.N. is preferred.
  • Two years recent hospital, medical/surgical or other relevant nursing experience preferred.
  • Hospice & Palliative Care Certification preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of I.V. pump, and central line maintenance preferred.
  • Evidence of current CPR certification.
  • Must possess and demonstrate highly effective interpersonal, customer service and communication skills.
  • Requires proficient computer skills, including experience with various software, database and electronic records programs.
  • Current RN licensure in the Commonwealth of MA and RI is required.
  • Hospice & Palliative Care Certification preferred.
  • If not yet certified, employee must agree to take certification exam when eligible.
  • Evidence of current CPR certification.
  • Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired

Compensation: Pay rate will be determined based on level of experience.
