This Position reports to:

ELSE US Manufacturing Manager

The Production Floor Manager (or Job Shop Manager) is responsible for ensuring efficiency and cost-effective production results that meet order demand, specifications, quality, and planning targets through the coordination and management of plant equipment, personnel, and production processes (quantity, quality, budgeted costs, and proper productivity level). In this role you will ensure customer satisfaction through effective management of the production order cycle. Our mission is to perform consistently and deliver value-added services to our customers with the highest level of quality exceeding customer expectations.

This is an on-site position based in Florence, SC.

This role is contributing to the Electrification Services Division in the United States

Key Responsibilities:

* Resource allocation: Organizes and allocates resources to effectively and efficiently meet line production targets. Responds to resource issues as necessary. Leads capacity planning and resource optimization for the assigned area.
* Production scheduling and planning: Plan and schedule work to meet or exceed customer commitment dates (ROTD/OTD). Forecast ROTD/OTD, Revenue from backlog.
* Production execution: Ensures execution of volume, conforming product, and on-time delivery targets for the assigned production lines.
* Operations improvement: Identifies deficiencies in production area, proposes improvement activities, and oversees implementation of actions to improve production performance. Partner with QA, Purchasing, Engineering and other key leaders in the ELSE aftermarket team to develop metrics and improvement activities to support continued operational excellence.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree with at least 5 years of experience in manufacturing environment, or HS Diploma and at least 10 years of experience in manufacturing or job shop environment.
  • Previous leadership and management experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably a job shop.
  • Knowledge of scheduling and production control processes
  • Knowledge of supply chain insourcing and outsourcing decisions and process.
  • Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills are required. Must be able to motivate and coach the team to maximize performance.
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
