DESCRIPTION/JOB SUMMARY To assist in designing new products and improving existing products in accordance with Pride's procedures and protocols RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES *Assist engineers with the daily activities such as prototype building, troubleshooting or code development *Assist in developing Bill of Materials (BOM's) and meet cost restraints *Assist with OrCAD Capture and Allegro Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Editor for electronic circuit design and PCB layout *Assist engineers with new schematic symbol and PCB footprint creation *Assist in through-hole and surface mount soldering *Assist in ensuring designs' safety, effectiveness, manufacturability, reliability, and Superior Product at Reduced Cost (SPARC) initiatives are met *Assist in performing inspections, verifications and validation testing *Ensure all safety and security rules are strictly observed and any accidents, incidents or injuries are promptly reported to management *Focus on continuous improvement, and consistently demonstrate good business judgment *Work effectively with all Pride departments to exceed internal and external expectations *Pride retains the discretion to modify duties and/or assign other duties as necessary REQUIRED SKILLS *Must be a team player, friendly, professional, detail-oriented and honest Must have the ability to: *Multi-task, problem-solve, and prioritize in a fast-paced working environment *Use electrical tools (i.e. multi-meter, oscilloscope, soldering iron and crimp tools), hand tools and standard power tools *Read and comprehend work instructions *Prepare and present summary reports Must have: *Relentless drive to achieve advancement and continuous improvement *Excellent verbal and written communication skills *Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word and Excel *Basic mathematical and reading skills *Basic understanding of electrical and control circuits REQUIRED EXPERIENCE *No experience required REQUIRED EDUCATION *Pursuit of a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Prospective interns must: *Be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now, or in the future *Be at least in the equivalency of successfully completing Sophomore year of college before starting the internship *Work on-site in the Duryea, Pennsylvania facility full-time for a minimum of 1 summer OR work part-time for a minimum of 1 school semester PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS *Ability to lift/push/pull 40 lbs. preferred *Provide approval documents from their college or university to receive college credit Preferred *Ability to work continuously on-site in the Duryea, Pennsylvania facility full-time and/or part-time for 2 or more summers or school semesters preferred *Current or previous successful internship experience with Pride Mobility Products Corporation preferred DETAILS *This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive *This is a safety sensitive position *Successful interns at Pride Mobility Products Corp. and/or Quantum Rehab will be given preference for future consideration for employment opportunities in an Electrical Engineering related role *In exceptional circumstances, some of the physical requirements of this position may be modified or eliminated as a reasonable accommodation for a person with a disability as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act Pride Mobility Products/Quantum Rehab is an Equal Opportunity employer.
