GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Responsible for verifying that inventory records, stocking and issuing parts and supplies that come to the facility are maintained.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS/DUTIES OF THE POSITION:



  • Able to identify parts, locate vendors and obtain quotes in order to determine part sourcing.
  • Ability to direct parts clerks in the performance of their duties, to include: ordering parts, setting up items in inventory, labeling and putting up parts, conducting cycle counts for verification of inventory and other duties as deemed necessary.
  • Communicate with Maintenance Requisitioner to resolve requisitioning issues, supplier issues and expediting of parts.
  • Determine proper ROP/ROQ based on usage.
  • Manage obsolete or slow turning inventory
  • Optimize inventory on-hand for reduced asset value
  • Maintain all parts to like new condition
  • Assign all inventory parts to an equipment category
  • Training of Parts Clerks.
  • Follow all food safety requirements and GMP's as applicable to this position
  • Any and all other duties assigned by your Supervisor

Required Skills

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES:



  • EXPERIENCE: Previous experience in a food processing facility is desired, but not required. Must be competent with JD Edwards Equipment and Plant Management software.
  • SKILLS: Must have proven ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally. Must have strong interpersonal, and telephone skills.
  • ADDITIONAL: Hands-on ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented food processing environment. Required to work independently and with limited supervision. Must be able to maintain regular and acceptable attendance, follow directions, interact well with co-workers, understand and follow posted work rules/ procedures. Must be flexible with the ability to work any shift as work load demands.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Work is performed in a cold environment with an average temperature of 34 degrees F. Concentrated chlorine and concealed ammonia is present. Work surfaces and floors are wet. Employees are required to wear approved shoes and protective equipment. Constant standing on a concrete floor, reaching, and repetitive hand movements will be required. Ability to use hands and fingers to handle tools. Ability to climb ladders and stairs and work at heights. Ability to lift up to an excess of 50 lbs. Ability to work in closed proximities. Ability to bend at the waist, crouching, bending, stooping while working close to the ground.

WORK HOUR & TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to work overtime as needed. Some weekends are required.

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:

HS diploma, GED, or demonstrated ability to perform assigned tasks. Excellent computer skills necessary (Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, and mainframe applications).

PAY RATE:

$27.00 HR
