The South Loop Physicians Group is a unique offsite primary care clinic supported by the Division of Academic Internal Medicine through the UIC Department of medicine. We provide state-of-the-art medical care to patients in the ambulatory setting that includes teaching and quality improvement. Many physicians at the clinic are involved in innovative research. Researchers study various interventions in the health care setting and community, with a focus on vulnerable populations disproportionately burdened with chronic disease.

  • Two-Generation Care for Mothers and Infants
  • Adults and children with disabilities primary care

Position is Contact by Location at 2600 South Michigan Avenue, Chicago, Illinois 60616

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Completes required orientation program and unit-specific competencies
  • Develops, Implements and updates the patient's plan of care based on ongoing assessment of the patient and input from the patient's family.
  • Shares Information and collaborates with other members of the health care team to promote effective patient care.
  • Verifies and implements orders from physician, physician assistant and/or advance practice nurse by performing Interventions as prescribed by the provider and documenting accurately in the electronic medical record
  • Engages and obtains information from patient and/or family to develop an appropriate patient educational plan
  • Recognizes symptoms, establishes priorities and responds to patient's changing needs. Administer vaccines and medications as ordered by physicians, perform medication prior authorizations.
  • Maintain vaccine inventory and manage ICARE program.
  • Assist with patient scheduling as needed
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.


  • Minimum Qualifications Required:

    • Licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in Illinois.
    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Ambulatory experience preferred, but not required. New grads welcome
    • Interest or experience in any of our clinical areas is a plus.
    • Spanish, Mandarin, or Cantonese language skills is also a plus.
