General Job Description: The Senior T&M Billing Specialist will spend about 70% of your time with Time & Materials billings; another 25% assisting Project Managers with Cost Research and Code Setup, catching problems early-on to resolve them efficiently; and the remaining 5% with other various accounting issues.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist management in implementing solid, cost-recoverable T&M billings to ensure that we always maximize our billing potential
- Research and resolve job/project cost issues through investigation and analysis.
- Prepare monthly billing projections and submit for invoice preparation on a timely basis.
- Gain credibility with internal & external stakeholders.
- Assist PMs with Job Cost reports and analysis.
- Assist PMs with maintaining change order logs.
- Set up new construction jobs in our system, assigning job cost tracking numbers and communicating with the project managers in a timely manner.
- Maintain regional responsibility for researching issues and explaining and/or training personnel to Company's accounting software.
- Serve as a back up to all billing functions, including invoice entry, document preparation, document storage, and address any other billing/cost related questions and issues with project managers and sales managers
- Learn and be a key user of our industry specific accounting/project management software.
- Assist with the testing & development of T&M reporting tools
- Educate and guide PMs when setting up the T&M profile in JD Edwards.
- Provide insight and feedback on T&M reporting structure and content to the client.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities, as assigned by Manager.
Position Requirements (Skills, Work Experience, Education, Certifications, Licenses, etc.):
- 7+ years of experience in billing/accounting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- A driven self-starter that can take the lead on initiatives and follow-through on existing commitments.
- Ability to demonstrate regular and dependable attendance
- Ability to multitask in a fast paced and deadline driven environment
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word
- Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with project managers, customers, co-workers, and executives.
- Construction industry experience is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of character-based software or familiarity with JD Edwards (ERP) & Profitool is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred but not required
- Experience with PDF form filler software

Hours: This is a non-exempt position. Workdays are scheduled from Monday through Friday. Typically, work hours begin and end between 7:00 am and 5:00 pm as scheduled with the position's supervisor, with a minimum thirty-minute and maximum one-hour break for lunch, and two rest breaks. Occasional overtime may be necessary per business needs. Overtime as required. Competitive Wages: $32.38 to $41.46 Per Hour.
