Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic Business Analyst Developer to join our Credit Research team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in enhancing the efficiency of analyst write-ups, developing semantic search capabilities within our credit search application, and addressing various needs as they arise within the team. You will collaborate closely with both business and technology teams to define development objectives, establish timelines, and set success criteria for projects. Additionally, the qualified candidate will provide ongoing guidance and training to both new and existing staff, ensuring effective planning and implementation of project goals.

Responsibilities

  • Develop Business Requirements: Create comprehensive business requirements and specifications to guide the development team.

  • Testing Support: Assist in the testing of complex business logic to ensure accuracy and functionality.

  • Issue Resolution: Provide troubleshooting support and resolve issues as they arise.

  • Documentation: Contribute to various documentation efforts, including user manuals and API documentation for cross-functional teams.

  • Power BI Dashboards: Design and produce Power BI dashboards to monitor application usage, performance metrics, and data quality.

  • User Support: Generate Power BI reports for end-users as needed.

  • Development Skills: Engage in development tasks using Python or UI technologies, based on individual skill sets.

  • System Design Participation: Collaborate in the design and architecture of new systems to enhance overall functionality and user experience.

Requirements

  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related technical/scientific field from an accredited four-year university

  • Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of financial business concepts, with a preference for experience in fixed income markets.

  • Database Expertise: Proficient in Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS) and SQL, with a proven ability to write complex SQL queries (5+ years of experience).

  • Programming Proficiency: Extensive experience in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) with a strong command of Python (5+ years of experience); familiarity with other OOP languages is a plus.

  • User Collaboration: Demonstrated experience in engaging with users to gather and articulate requirements and specifications (5+ years of experience).

  • AI Exposure: Some familiarity with artificial intelligence concepts and applications, showcasing a willingness to explore innovative technologies.

Desired Qualification:

  • Experience in a front office support role within the capital markets, either on the buy-side or sell-side, would be beneficial, but we are open to candidates with transferable skills and the right attitude.

  • Understanding of the asset management industry, including portfolio management, trading, and investment management business processes.

PIMCO follows a total compensation approach when rewarding employees which includes a base salary and a discretionary bonus. Base salary is the fixed component of compensation that is determined by core job responsibilities, relevant experience, internal level, and market factors. The discretionary bonus is used to award performance and therefore is determined by company, business, team, and individual performance.
Salary Range: $ 175,000.00 - $ 240,000.00
