CloudOps Automation Engineer

Location: Sunnyvale, CA

This role concentrates on the design & implementation of cloud infrastructure automation and monitoring solutions which includes Linux server administration, complex storage use cases, IAAS/PAAS/SaaS, non-application software, networking to support application and business processes as business requires. Included in the focus areas is the critical evaluation and selection of any software / hardware components to address any infrastructure, cloud provider, security, monitoring, deployment & provisioning tools, etc. This CloudOps Automation Engineer opportunity is hands-on responsible for performance, availability and scalability of our on-prem cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities
* Full stack automation using Ansible & Python or other programming languages suited to the task using various API technologies such as RESTful, JSON, etc.
* Experience of full stack application deployments including x.509 certificates, SSH key management, basic database administration, etc
* Implementation of operational tools for provisioning, deployment, monitoring / performance tools etc.
* Experience with load balancer technology including classic Layer4-7 deployments, K8S Ingress types, etc.
* Optional experience in managing and maintaining various on-prem environments including Kubernetes (K8S), Docker, Proxmox, Vmware ESX, and bare metal compute deployments is preferred
* Be responsible for ensuring performance, availability and scalability of the infrastructure.
* Help managing and maintaining Juniper's internal monitoring solution
* Help debug and resolve any infrastructure networking issues
* Responsible for Cloud production environment monitoring, performance, release/deployment, security, reliability, availability, capacity, latency, and other non-functional concerns.
* This is a 100 % hands-on role managing our On-Orem Cloud administration, application release management/deployment and tools ownership requirements

Basic Qualifications
* B.S/BE/B.Tech (Preferred M.S) in Electronics/Electrical/Computer Engineering or equivalent with 5+ years of experience
* Minimum 5 years experience in Unix/Linux System Infrastructure Administration in a SaaS or Cloud Operations
* Minimum 2 years hands on experience in implementation of Linux containers is highly preferred
* Minimum 2 years of deep hands on experience in cloud infrastructure [Compute, Storage & Network]
* Strong foundation in Virtualization & Service Management
* Flexible, continuous learner and knowledge sharer, excellent communicator, works well in team environment, appreciates challenge, comfortable and effective working in new areas that require experimentation and rapid problem solving.

Minimum Salary: $140,800.00

Maximum Salary:$202,400.00

The pay range for this position is expected to be between $140,800.00 and $202,400.00/year; however, the base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position also includes medical benefits, 401(k) eligibility, vacation, sick time, and parental leave. Additional details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
