Systems Administrator, Deltek/Vantagepoint

Position Overview:

The Deltek Vantagepoint Systems Administrator will manage, operate, and optimize our Deltek Vantagepoint ERP system. This role will serve as the technical owner of Vantagepoint, collaborating across departments to ensure the system supports our business processes, reporting needs, and data governance policies. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of ERP platforms, system integration, reporting, and enterprise data management from an IT perspective.

Primary Responsibilities:

System Administration & Configuration:

• Serve as the primary technical administrator of Deltek Vantagepoint, managing system configuration, user roles, and permissions.
• Implement and manage workflows, approval processes, and automation within the system.
• Coordinate system upgrades, patches, and testing to ensure minimal disruption to users.

Data Management & Integrity:

• Establish and enforce data standards in partnership with Finance and Operations.
• Develop and monitor data validation rules to maintain clean, consistent, and reliable data.
• Support governance policies for data entry, correction, and archiving across the project lifecycle. Report quarterly on system adherence with data policies and standards.

Security & Access Control:

• Maintain and audit user access, ensuring appropriate role-based security.
• Monitor system usage and potential threats in coordination with IT security protocols.

Integrations & Technical Support:

• Manage integrations between Vantagepoint and other enterprise systems (e.g., document management, HRIS, CRM).
• Collaborate with IT team and vendors to resolve system issues and ensure uptime.
• Act as the Tier 2/3 support for Vantagepoint-related technical issues.

Reporting & Insights:

• Build and maintain standard and custom reports using Deltek tools and SQL as needed.
• Partner with business units to deliver dashboards and reporting that support decision-making.
• Support finance with revenue recognition, project controls, and forecasting configurations.
• Training & Documentation:
• Develop technical documentation for configurations, integrations, and procedures.
• Train internal IT staff and end users on system use, enhancements, and best practices.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent years of experience.
• 5+ years of experience administering ERP systems; 2+ years with Deltek Vantagepoint preferred.
• Strong understanding of system architecture, databases (SQL), and API integrations preferred.
• Experience supporting AEC project lifecycles, financial workflows, and reporting preferred.
• Knowledge of data governance and IT compliance standards.
• Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Experience with Power BI, Microsoft 365, or other analytics platforms a plus.
• Experience in AEC industry IT environments preferred.
• Familiarity with data warehousing or ETL tools preferred.
• Project management or systems implementation experience (e.g., Agile, ITIL) preferred.
