About the Opportunity
DMI, LLC is seeking a Requirements Analyst Journeyman to join us. Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead the elicitation, documentation, and validation of functional and technical requirements in support of network modernization, cybersecurity enhancements, and enterprise IT initiatives.
- Analyze and interpret user needs, business processes, and existing systems to identify opportunities for automation, optimization, or system integration.
- Collaborate with engineers, system architects, and cybersecurity personnel to ensure requirements align with network design, compliance standards, and operational constraints.
- Develop and maintain requirements traceability matrices (RTMs) and support the full lifecycle from requirements gathering through system testing and validation.
- Identify workflow bottlenecks and process inefficiencies, and recommend solutions based on system capability evaluations and best practices.
- Review and assess the viability of commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) solutions, cloud-native tools, and enterprise technologies that can meet emerging requirements.
- Translate technical requirements into clear documentation, user stories, or specifications for development and implementation teams.
- Support the development of performance metrics, SLAs, and user acceptance criteria, ensuring alignment with mission objectives and stakeholder expectations.
- Contribute to Agile ceremonies (e.g., sprint planning, backlog grooming) and interface with product owners or government leads on prioritization.
- Operate with autonomy and creativity, often crafting original approaches for complex problems and proposing innovative methodologies for requirement analysis and delivery assurance.
Qualifications
Education and Years of Experience:
- BS 2-4 Years, MS 0-2 or HS 8-10
Required and Desired Skills/Certifications:
- 3+ years of experience as a business or systems requirements analyst on IT infrastructure, networking, or security-focused projects
- Proven expertise in requirements gathering, systems analysis, and stakeholder engagement
- Strong knowledge of systems engineering lifecycle (SELC) and Agile or SAFe methodologies
- Proficient with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Visio, Lucidchart, or DOORS
- Ability to analyze system logs, configuration schemas, and interface specs to extract implicit requirements
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
Desired Skills / Certifications
- Certified Business Analyst Professional (CBAP) or PMI Professional in Business Analysis (PMI-PBA)
- ITIL v4 Foundation certification
- Experience supporting DHS, CBP, or other federal agencies
- Familiarity with network security frameworks, IP schema documentation, and FISMA/NIST compliance tracking
- Experience working with API documentation and system interoperability requirements
