Position Overview: The Summer IT Intern will have the opportunity to work on two key areas of responsibility: business analysis of our current Infrastructure platform costs and assisting with the configuration and optimization of a private AI tool. This internship is ideal for undergraduate or graduate students in computer science, business analytics, or related fields. The role will be on site to begin with potential to by hybrid moving forward.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Business Analysis of Infrastructure:
    • Analyze current infrastructure equipment, including network, server, and data center components.
    • Review purchase history, maintenance renewal schedules, and end-of-life dates.
    • Determine the total cost "footprint" for various equipment purposes.
    • Develop a 5-year cost planning roadmap based on future spending needs.
    • Use Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
  1. Configuration and Optimization of AI Tool:
    • Work with business teams to define AI use cases, calculate ROI, and assist with development and deployment of those use cases.
    • Assist in configuring and optimizing a private AI tool for various applications.
    • Use the AI tool to access training materials, review contracts, and provide system data insights.
    • Help to identify employee skills and other relevant data points and configure the AI tool to use the information.
    • Use Microsoft Planner and Microsoft Project for project management tasks.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in computer science, business analytics, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic programming skills.
  • Familiarity with AI tools and their applications.
  • Experience with Microsoft Planner and Microsoft Project.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Education:

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in computer science, business analytics, or a related field.

Work Schedule: M-F 0800-1700
