JOB OVERVIEW:

This position is responsible for the operational oversight of Outlet Center inventory, including, but not limited to, mechanical room, digital, and small equipment and sterilizers in compliance with QA requirements, manufacturer specifications, and operational workflow.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs diagnosis, certification, and repair services for incoming inventory by following proper troubleshooting steps to diagnose errors on technical problems and determining proper solutions. This may include installing the equipment at the Outlet Center facility to perform these duties. This inventory includes, but is not limited to, sterilizers, digital equipment (e.g. x-ray arms, panoramic x-rays, CAD/CAM, etc.), small equipment (e.g. ultrasonic cleaners, scalers, etc.), and mechanical room equipment (e.g. compressors, vacuums, etc.).

  • Oversees the triage and inspection of incoming NSP, Dental Center, and other inventory identifying appropriate disposition and workflow. This includes working with Outlet Center management to determine priorities for certifying products.

  • Managers appropriate records keeping processes (e.g. RMAs, complaint logs), documentation (e.g. evaluation, work completed, parts used, etc.), and labeling in a timely manner.

  • Processes and documents RMAs. This includes determining and managing product disposition, recertification, and complaint log entry as applicable.

  • Attends required training, which includes but is not limited to Henry Schein Dental product service training and manufacturer technical training. Stays current on repair certification and acquiring and managing repair documentation.

  • Train and assist with ongoing development of Outlet Center staff

  • Identifies and coordinates the acquisition, maintenance, and calibration of necessary tools and test equipment along with the parts necessary to perform certifications and repairs.

  • Coordinates and generates POs for sending out-of-scope products to vendors for certification and repair and works with Outlet Center management to coordinate and attend repair training for these products as appropriate to reduce reliance on outside vendors.

  • Complies with all OSHA regulations as outlined in the OSHA manual and training.

  • Performs other tasks as assigned by supervisor or management.

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • Must be cross certified (digital x-ray/software, digital CAD/CAM, etc.)

  • Ability to read, understand and perform standard procedures and work instructions.

  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence

  • Advanced electro-mechanical skills required

  • Intermediate math and logic skills required

  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills and software use required

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where limited standardization exists

  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

  • Forklift certified or willing to be certified

MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE:

Typically 6 or more years of related experience. 3 to 5 years of dental equipment experience with demonstrated proficiency and advanced electro-mechanical and customer service background.

PREFERRED EDUCATION:

Typically, High School education, vocational training and/or on-the-job training. Associates degree or Technical School Certification is preferred.

TRAVEL / PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Travel typically not required / less than 10%.

  • Will be expected to maneuver large equipment as needed. The physical nature of the position, at times, may require repetitive bending, stopping, lifting and climbing of ladders.

  • Position typically works in a manufacturing and warehouse environment on site where environmental conditions are stable. May be exposed to higher levels of noise typical in a manufacturing and warehouse environment.

  • While performing the dutes of this job, the employee routinely is required to sit or stand for extended periods of time; use hands to finger and operate manual and non-manual machinery; stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, stretch and lift up to 50 pounds.

  • Position requires that the employee use eye protection while using certain equipment/machinery.
