GENERAL FUNCTION

This role supports the EssilorLuxottica Mission of Improving Lives by Improving Sight by working closely with the Lab Leadership in providing guidance, coaching, and training to lab employees. The Performance Improvement Specialist Expeditor is a vital position devoted to all processes within the lab. The position includes hands-on support with expediting work within the lab using prioritization tools, reviewing any returned eyeglass order for a lab error remake, coordinating communication with eyecare professionals regarding product availability, job delays, and alternative solutions to help guide informed decisions. You will also be responsible for monitoring outsourced eyeglass orders being done at partner labs by utilizing various tools and intercompany communication channels to pursue alternate paths to provide the highest quality job and maintain service level standards.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Coordinate the workflow and work activities of the Production team to ensure quality and productivity goals are met
  • Provide coaching, detailed training and follow-up to employees on all tasks in accordance with standard operating procedures
  • Multi-skilled and competent in all roles in the department with the ability to maintain normal product flow based on demand
  • Act as primary contact for calibrating and troubleshooting lab processes
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to ensure consistent implementation of procedures.
  • Keep yourself and team up to date on all current processes, optical knowledge, and products available
  • Ensure tools, equipment, and other resources necessary for success are always provided to the team
  • Provide employees with clear performance objectives tied to lab performance for quality, productivity, service level and growth
  • Lead daily documented team meetings with action plans and follow up.
  • Communicate and provide input to Department Supervisor for purposes of coaching and training needed for any employees not conforming to performance, job requirements, department rules and or behavior related issues
  • Perform regular documented audits within department to ensure that correct procedures are being followed and machines are properly calibrated. Immediately document and post any changes to SOP's
  • Lead initiatives/projects throughout the lab to improve process flow, through put, and overall lab performance


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS



  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • High mechanical / technical aptitude
  • 1+ years of related work experience in Manufacturing
  • The ability to meet measurable standards in a dynamic production environment
  • Depth perception and manual dexterity
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational abilities
  • Attention to detail

Pay Range: $16.50-33.09

Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills and local minimum wage requirements. In addition, you may also be offered a competitive bonus and/or commission plan, which complements a first-class total rewards package.
