Manhattan Strategy Group (MSG) provides consulting services across the federal government in the areas of training and technical assistance, research and evaluation, marketing and communications, program management, and information technology. Our federal clients include the U.S. Departments of Education, Health and Human Services, Agriculture, Labor, Justice, Homeland Security, and the National Science Foundation.
The Pricing Analyst supports the development of cost and pricing strategies for proposals and ongoing contracts. Working closely with senior pricing staff, contracts, and finance teams, this role is responsible for collecting data, building pricing models, and ensuring pricing submissions are accurate, compliant, and competitive.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing detailed cost estimates, pricing spreadsheets, and proposal pricingvolumes.
- Analyze Request for Proposal (RFP) requirements to identify pricing deliverables and deadlines.
- Gather labor rates, material costs, and indirect rates to support pricing development.
- Support price-to-win and competitive analysis activities by conducting basic market research.
- Prepare pricing summaries, inputs for cost narratives, and internal review documents.
- Maintain pricing databases and templates to support proposal efforts.
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulations (e.g., FAR, DFARS) and company policies.
- Participate in pricing reviews and assist in responding to audit or compliance questions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field (required).
- 1-3 years of pricing, financial analysis, or contracts experience (internships and co-ops may count).
- Basic understanding of cost principles and pricing methodologies (government contracting exposure a plus).
- Strong proficiency with Excel (pivot tables, basic formulas, formatting).
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with federal contracting terms and contract types (FFP, T&M, CPFF) is a plus.
- Experience with Deltek Costpoint, ProPricer, or similar systems is a bonus.
- Exposure to pricing activities through internships or previous employment highly desirable.
