Omron Automation Americas is looking for an energetic and high-potential Manager, Channel Sales Team to drive both strategic and tactical actions to increase sales of Omron automation products within selected Omron channel partners throughout the US and Canada. In this role you will lead a team of Channel Sales Managers.

The Product Manager for Omron Products is responsible for the strategic direction, product management and performance of their assigned product portfolio in the Americas. Working closely with the global business units and the regional sales organization, the PM conducts market research, competitive analysis and voice of customer investigations to identify key market needs and pain points in Omron's target industrial verticals. She builds business justification to supports the development of new product offerings to address those pain points and enhance Omron's value proposition in the market. Working closely with internal and external engineer and R&D teams, she creates product specifications and requirements for new products to support the North American market and will routinely participate in the product development process. The PM executes plans for the successful introduction to the Omron sales organization while actively managing the lifecycle of the existing portfolio to maximize margin, market share and revenue in the Americas. The product manager is expected to identify the key value proposition and messaging of their portfolio and support the marketing department in activities for the achievement of defined annual revenue objectives.

Responsibilities:



  • Understands the competitive landscape, market trends and customer needs for Omron's products and positions those products appropriately
  • Identifies key product needs and portfolio gaps required for Omron's success in the Americas
  • Acts as voice of the region in global product planning discussions to align global product development with local requirements.
  • Conducts regularly voice of customer interviews to discover market needs and quantify their value
  • Co-develops product specifications to address market needs to Omron strategy in the Americas
  • Regularly constructs business cases to justify investment in new product development
  • Builds strong relationships with key stakeholders (PBD, Sales, etc) to ensure alignment on product and business objections
  • Monitor and report on product performance and ROI to make data driven recommendations to optimize results
  • Analyze market data, competitor activities, customer/sales feedback to refine and develop new product strategies
  • Manages the lifecycle of her portfolio to align with strategic priorities
  • Regularly provides recommendations to management on the strategic focus and recommended actions for her portfolio
  • Conducts internal product training as necessary
  • Functions as the product subject matter expert in support of various commercial marketing activities
  • Registers and maintains all part numbers in Omron ERP systems
  • Supports the development of annual budget forecast
  • Coordinates with sub-region marketing teams in Mexico, ROM, Brazil and Canada to ensure consistency of offerings and messaging


Requirements:



  • Four (4) year Business or Engineering Degree
  • Minimum of five (5) years of product management and/or sales experience in industrial automation or related industry.
  • Experience with positioning and marketing assigned products into target industries within the automation marketplace. Prior experience in automation controls a plus
  • Experience in building business cases for new product investments
  • Excellent presentation skills and business acumen in front of customers and distributors.
  • Proficient in current Microsoft Office and Adobe tools. Experience with Salesforce.com is a plus.
  • 25% travel
