OVERVIEW:
The Sr. Credit Analyst will be responsible for analyzing, reporting, validating and disputing non-trade deductions across accounts receivable. This position will require a deep understanding of company processes, policies, and customer behaviour, including but not limited to overage, shortage, and damage claims (OS&D). The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with our 3rd party accounting service provider, customer contacts, and cross-functional teams such as Sales, Customer Service, Logistics, and Finance to resolve issues, streamline processes, and ensure accurate financial reporting.
Job Responsibilities:
Reporting & Documentation:
- Update and distribute weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports related to OS&D deduction status, OS&D Provision, and PODs needed to key stakeholders.
- Document deduction activities related to weekly priorities, including trends, resolution rates, and potential financial impacts.
- Update and upload weekly deliveries for carrier Accelerator POD downloads.
- Maintain accurate records of deduction cases, including tracking statuses, action plans, and outcomes.
- Validate and track monthly Genpact Recovery submissions.
Deductions Analysis & Research:
- Dispute Amazon OS&D claims and follow through until resolution.
- Analyze and investigate non-trade deductions, ensuring proper documentation and follow-up actions are taken for each deduction.
- Identify, dispute and resolve any discrepancies in deductions related to non-trade related claims.
- Research and identify customer payments on account.
- Perform thorough research on deduction trends to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions to mitigate future deductions.
- Ensure deductions are resolved in a timely manner .
- Download weekly PODs from carrier Accelerator system.
- Create offset requests and vouchers for customer accounts where necessary.
Process Improvement:
- Identify process inefficiencies and recommend improvements to streamline deduction management, reduce errors, and improve cash flow.
- Suggest and implement best practices for managing non-trade deductions.
Collaboration & Communication:
- Facilitate weekly meetings with 3rd party accounting service to discuss deduction status and assist with resolving issues and providing guidance to ensure efficient and timely processing of claims.
- Lead the work with internal departments (Sales, Customer Service, Logistics, etc.) to understand the reasoning behind OS&D deductions and ensure timely resolutions.
- Liaise with customers to gather the necessary information, clarify deductions, and inform of settlement opportunities when needed.
- Communicate findings and actions with management and relevant teams to keep them informed of deduction-related issues.
- Escalate topics needing assistance to appropriate parties when needed.
- Build and maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external partners.
Compliance & Controls:
- Adhere to department processes and guidelines
- Ensure adherence to company policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements regarding deductions.
- Assist in periodic audits by reviewing monthly sampling of items for accuracy and providing necessary documentation and data to support deduction-related inquiries.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, or Engineering
- 5-7 years' experience in FP&A, Accounting, Credit /Accounts Receivable areas.
- CPG industry experience.
- Strong MS Excel/PowerPoint and SAP (or similar system) experience required.
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
- Strong organizational, follow-through and decision-making skills, ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
- Strong business analytics skills and must be able to work and problem solve both independently and within a collaborative environment
- Very strong communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with customer and key internal stakeholders, (Sales, Supply Chain, Customer Service)
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
