Job Summary:
The Social Emotional Learning Instructor (SEL) position will facilitate 5 SEL sessions to a group of no more than 25 students. The SEL program will be administered during the PEOPLE summer residential program to help students build self-management skills by exploring self. The objective of SEL lessons are to help students take ownership of their success and to learn skills needed to achieve personal and educational goals. The SEL curriculum is provided to instructors and supported by the Social Emotional Learning Coordinator. The SEL Instructors must be confident in their ability to facilitate lessons on SEL topics such as Healthy Relationships, Exploring Identity, and Responsible Activism. Responsibilities: Teaches the quiz, tutorial, discussion or lab section(s) of a course or assists in the development of materials or programs under the direction of an academic staff or faculty member. May perform the same work as a Teaching Assistant, but is not a UW student.
