Summary: The First Vice President - Cash Management, Government Banking will develop and expand municipal, institutional, and commercial relationships within the bank's market, with a focus on Connecticut. This role involves identifying client needs, promoting bank products and services, and managing existing portfolios. This role is based at our company headquarters in Holyoke, MA and will travel as needed throughout MA and CT. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary contact for assigned prospective and current government banking clients.
- Identify client needs and sales opportunities bank-wide, promoting increased utilization of bank products and services.
- Independently develop new municipal, institutional, and commercial deposit relationships, and build a network of referral sources.
- Directly sell deposit and cash management products/services to new and existing municipal, institutional, and commercial clients, either independently or with the Commercial Lending team.
- Manage existing portfolio and stay informed of public sector market trends.
- Maintain knowledge of bank products, services, and regulatory compliance.
- Refer opportunities to other bank areas, including Retail, PB Wealth, and Lending.
- Conduct customer/prospect needs and profitability analysis and assist in developing responses to RFPs.
- Prepare and present service solutions/sales presentations to prospects and customers.
- Coordinate account opening and cash management products/services with Cash Management Support and/or branch network.
- Oversee sales installations and training with the Cash Management support team, ensuring customer satisfaction and compliance.
- Provide superior customer service and support.
- Collaborate with FVP Cash Management and Cash Management Support Manager on new product/service needs and pricing/profitability recommendations.
- Actively participate in civic and community events to cultivate new relationships and promote the Bank's interests.
- Complete yearly compliance training and testing, adhering to bank, federal, and state regulations, as well as departmental and bank-wide service standards.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- 7-10 years of sales experience in business and/or municipal banking
Skills Required:
- Demonstrated success in initiating, executing, and expanding complex client relationships
- Expertise in business development, relationship management, and negotiation
- Proficiency in building strong internal partnerships within large, complex organizations
- Collaborative skills in credit underwriting and risk assessment with commercial teams
- Strong analytical abilities to understand and interpret financial statements
- Capability to independently manage and complete assignments
- Responsibility for interpreting, organizing, and executing tasks effectively
- Decision-making skills impacting significant bank operations
- Regularly advising and approving commercial loan or service transactions
- Self-motivated and highly organized
Computer/Technical Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
