Welder

Staffmark is seeking an experienced Welder to join our team in Houston, TX. If you have intermediate welding skills and are proficient in welding carbon steel and stainless steel components for pressure vessels, we want to hear from you!

Pay: $21 per hour

Shift: 2nd Shift

Responsibilities:

• Follow safety policies and procedures in the shop.
• Adhere to shop quality practices and procedures.
• Use welding processes such as Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW/MIG), Flux Cored Arc Welding (FCAW), and Gouge for root pass application.
• Set up components and weld metal parts together according to engineering drawings or work orders.
• Weld pipe/flanges, couplings, nozzles to pressure vessel shells with attention to tolerance gaps and penetration levels.
• Analyze defective equipment and inform supervisor of necessary adjustments.
• Maintain cleanliness and dispose of metal waste properly.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Foreman.

Qualifications:

• 2-4 years of welding fabrication experience.
• Ability to read and follow welding procedures.
• Capable of performing 6G, 6" & 2" 45-degree weld tests.
• Must meet certification standards.
• Strong knowledge of welding processes and tolerances.
• Ability to work in a shop environment with welding fumes, arc flash, and high noise levels.
• Physical ability to stand, bend, climb, and lift up to 45 lbs. (80% of the time).
