Summary:

Do a professional job; keep equipment and facilities in a high state of repair. Assist

Location Manager in daily operations of plant, other duties as assigned. Follows all policies as adopted and implemented by Southern FS, Inc.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Promote sales of all products sold by the company.

Make patron satisfaction a top priority. Personal contact of assigned accounts. Properly display, maintain, and market all product lines.

  1. Plant Operations.

Assist location Manager in the Custom Application operation at the location, assist location Manager in directing and dispatching operators and while ensuring acres are applied in a professional manner.

Agronomy Custom Application to include (Custom Applications of Chemicals and Liquid Fertilizer, Dry Fertilizer and or Custom Application of Anhydrous Ammonia)

Assist in Scheduling delivery of products and the routing of 1 to 5 custom applicators and seasonal support help.Deliver LP Gas, Liquid Fuel Products, and Bulk or Packaged Oil Products. Professionally Manage Chemical (Bulk and Package) Inventory, controls shrink and keep to an absolute minimum.

Practice good prevention maintenance on all plant equipment.

Maintain facilities and equipment in neat and orderly fashion--(vehicles, tools, office, and shop). Maintain operational hours as patrons needs deem necessary -- (timely arrival to work, special hours to meet patron needs). Responsible for the Loading and unloading of Anhydrous Ammonia nurse tanks.

Responsible for the blending and delivery of Dry Fertilizer.

Assists in obtaining goals by improving efficiency and reducing costs. Provides excellent customer service.

  1. Handle complaint and follow-up.

Acknowledge complaint (report to supervisor) and present solution promptly - (24 hours). Also, communicate complaint to product specialist.

  1. Administering credit.

Follow company credit policy and conditions. Have credit approved on all new patrons. Make eligible patrons aware of agri-finance service. Assist in collection of all accounts as assigned.

  1. Product inventories.

Maintain a reasonable inventory of "sellable" products.

Count inventory on a monthly basis and account for any longs and shorts.

  1. Other duties.

Attend all company functions - (Annual meeting, Company meetings, farm bureau functions, etc.). Arrive on a timely basis.

Obtain prior approval from supervisor for any personal time needed. (Vacations, personal days, etc.).

Project a good image of company in personal appearance and habits. Maintain an active interest in self-development and personal improvement. Company vehicle will be furnished for use of job- related duties only.

Perform other duties and responsibilities which may be assigned from time to time. Submit weekly activity reports on contacts and projects.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Indirectly directs five to 7 employees in the Plant and Field Operations. Carries out Directional responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra

and geometry.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Accounting Agvance software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software, Application Equipment Monitors (Vipers, Ravens, etc.)

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Class A CDL with Double, Triple, Tanker and Hazmat endorsements IDOA Pesticide Applicators License, IDOA Seed Treating License
