Part-Time Assistant Ice Hockey Coach

The opportunity

Southern New Hampshire University's traditional campus in Manchester, NH is looking for a Part-time Assistant Coach Ice Hockey to work on-site with our men's ice hockey team. The main responsibility of this position is to offer assistance to our athletes and report directly to the Head Men's Ice Hockey Coach.

Work Hours:

We ask that you commit of 10 hours per week for this role. Practices are from 7 AM - 9 AM during the week and games will take place on Friday and Saturday.

In this Role You'll Get To:

• Participate in the leading and execution of preseason and season practices. Help monitor conditioning programs
• Provide input as to the evaluation of the athlete's performance and progress. Evaluate opponents' performance and scouting. Ensure our athlete's best during games.
• Help us recruit prospective student athletes
• Participate in planning for events including fund raising or other special functions
• Bring University vans to and from practice, games, playoffs, and coaches meetings
• Demonstrate your knowledge, observance, and commitment to all rules and regulations of the College, NE-IO, ECAC, and NCAA
• Attend all practices and home/away games.
• Additional tasks can be assigned with discussion between the Head Coach, Director of Athletics and the Assistant Coach

What we're Looking For:

• Bachelor's Degree
• 3+ years of playing or coaching experience at the high school, junior, or college hockey level
• Hold a valid driver's license and be eligible to be insured by the university's auto insurance carrier to drive on campus when needed.

The position, governed by the rules and regulations of the NCAA and of Southern New Hampshire University, requires working with the Head Coach in all facets of the program. You must develop a working knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations and pass the NCAA Certification exam.

Per NCAA rule, a coach who is found in violation of NCAA regulations shall be subject to disciplinary or corrective action as set forth in the provisions of the NCAA enforcement procedures, including suspension without pay or termination of employment for significant or repetitive violations.
