OVERVIEW: A Principal Consultant within the Subcontractor Default practice works on Subcontractor Default Insurance primarily. Secondary responsibilities include work related to Surety, Professional Liability and other Complex Construction Claims and Disputes. Responsibilities include performing various methods of forensic analysis on construction projects and various cost and quantum related analysis on construction claims and disputes for insurance carriers, law firms, owners, developers and contractors around the world.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:



  • Performs forensic assignments within the Subcontractor Default practice while working with Subcontractor Default Insurance, Surety, Professional Liability and other Complex Construction Claims and Disputes based upon a scope of work and budget prepared by the consultant and agreed upon by the Client in advance of performing the work.
  • Performs forensic analysis on construction projects and produces written forensic reports detailing the findings.
  • Performs cost and quantum-related analysis on construction claims and disputes for insurance carriers, law firms, owners, developers, and contractors and produce written forensic reports, graphics and data models detailing the findings.
  • Manages multiple projects and coordinate with other support team members to produce client reports in a timely manner.
  • Supervises and evaluates the performance of associate team members and serve as a team leader or project manager.
  • Provides technical oversight on matters and the work of associate team members.
  • Initiates, develops, and maintains mutually beneficial client relationships.
  • Identifies and pursues prospective clients, leveraging internal and external resources to develop new relationships and opportunities.


REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION and CERTIFICATIONS:



  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture or construction management
  • 8-15 years of experience performing forensic claims and cost analysis work
  • Construction Management and Engineering experience required with a minimum of 10-15 years of construction experience
  • Experience in the analysis of construction claim damages including delay damages
  • Testifying experiences is a plus for any candidate
  • Experience with estimating software is a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products such as PowerBI, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Proficiency in P3 and P6 scheduling software, experience with SureTrak, MS Project and Asta is a plus


REQUIRED SKILLS and ABILITIES:



  • The employee must be attentive, focused, and alert when conducting site inspections, speaking and interacting with clients, preparing written reports of findings, and testifying in deposition or trial. Clear vision and depth perception are also necessary.
  • Working knowledge of BlueBeam, Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Knowledge of construction systems including structural, mechanical, electrical for commercial, retail, healthcare, and high-rise residential buildings.
  • Experience coordinating with disciplines internally as well as externally with consultants.
  • Experience conducting and attending construction site inspections, as well as preparing site reports.
  • Must be a self-starter, self-motivated, multi-tasker, and able to work independently or within a team.
  • Must be highly perceptive; capable of interacting and communicating with individuals at all levels, exercising diplomacy and tact.

The Salary Range for this position is $149,600.00 - $195,000.00 and is dependent on education, experience, location and certifications/licensure.
