The Lead Associate, HR Strategy & Operational Execution, is both a strategic and hands-on role that is critical to the successful execution of a variety of strategic initiatives within the HR team and across the enterprise. This role bridges the gap between HR strategy and operational execution of strategic initiatives, and as such also involves project management of them. This role will lead the planning, development, execution, and tracking of initiatives that align with and support Protective's talent and culture strategic priorities. Success in this role will require maintaining an overarching, strategic view of all HR initiatives; strong project management skills; using effective change management methods; and appropriately engaging both business and HR stakeholders. The Lead Associate, HR Strategy & Operational Execution, will additionally plan and facilitate HR team management routines, events, and will coordinate the budgeting and expense management process for HR.

Job Responsibilities
  • Management of Strategic Initiatives: Partners with the CHRO and CHRO's direct reports to successfully execute talent and culture strategic initiatives. Builds and maintains an enterprise-wide view to ensure priorities are clear while driving realization of program goals in a manner that supports business needs, is complimentary with organizational culture, supports the employee value proposition and desired employee experience, and can be repeated and sustained. Identifies cross-functional and cross-organizational dependencies, engages appropriate business and HR stakeholders, and ensures all workstreams and resources are aligned to execute within timeline and budget.
  • Management of Strategic Planning Process: Partners with the CHRO and CHRO's direct reports to advance our HR Vision and Strategy in support of Protective's vision and objectives. Fosters collaboration and transparent communication to understand enterprise and department needs while working towards common objectives. Leads the semi-annual goal setting process and assists with the talent and culture related topics for various planning meetings.
  • Project Management and Acquisition Support: Provide direct project management support for selected initiatives; typically, those that have a broad scope, a high degree of complexity, and/or significant business impact. Provides support and plays a leadership role in acquisition integration for the talent and culture workstream including integration related project management, workstream coordination, and liaises with various business and staff functions.
  • Plans and Facilitates HR Operating Rhythms and Management Routines: Leads the planning and facilitation for the Talent and Culture Advisory Committee (a committee of senior and executive leaders focused on our people and culture), ensuring focus on the most valuable and timely topics. Schedules, plans, and facilitates operating rhythms, including HR leadership team meetings, staff meetings, planning, and other meetings and events as appropriate to facilitate the needs of the department.
  • Facilitates Budget and Expense Management Processes: Coordinates the budgeting and expense management processes for HR through monitoring, reporting, and planning activities.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • 7 - 10 years of relevant experience in Human Resources.
  • Strong cross-functional HR and Project Management experience required.
  • Strong project management skills, with experience successfully delivering large, cross-functional projects through the full lifecycle and an ability to prioritize tasks and organize workloads across various workstreams and teams.
  • Strong people skills, including the ability to listen, develop relationships, build consensus, and influence decision-making across groups of diverse stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey ideas and recommendations in a clear, compelling, and succinct way through both written and verbal communications.
  • Strong critical-thinking skills, with the ability to approach business problems in creative ways to identify, clarify, and resolve issues in complex situations.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to utilize data and key metrics to develop insights, tell stories, drive decisions, and measure impact.
  • Strong facilitation skills for an executive-level group.
  • Excellent judgement and trustworthiness with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information discreetly.
  • Experience in developing, initiating, and leading significant change efforts preferred.
  • Bias for action, excellent attention to detail, comfort with ambiguity, and relentless commitment to follow-through.
Protective's targeted total compensation for this position is $97,500 to $149,500. Actual salaries may vary depending on factors, including but not limited to, job location, skills, and experience. The range listed is just one component of Protective's total compensation package for employees.
This position also offers additional incentive opportunities through an annual incentive based on individual and Company performance.
