Job Description |
The purpose of this position is to develop, manage and implement all student recruitment initiatives at Harford Community College, while providing supervision and operational support across the Admissions team. This position will support the achievement of the College's vision of serving as a regional leader in education and workforce development, offering transformative programs that drive individual growth and shared prosperity. The Coordinator of Student Recruitment will enact the transformative mission of community colleges by engaging prospective students with cultural competence and a deep understanding of the diverse communities we serve. The Coordinator acts as the Primary Designated School Official (
PDSO), is main point of contact for incoming international credit students and collaborates with key stakeholders in determining best practices to support incoming and current international students. The Coordinator also develops and implements recruitment strategies including those that meet the needs of underserved areas/populations; collaborates on executing student-centered practices; manages and expands early access recruitment initiatives; and supervises professional staff. Other duties include contributing to the leadership development of the Admissions team, overseeing event management, coordinating College outreach efforts, and collaborating on the assessment and evaluation of the activities of the Admissions Office.
Employees of Harford Community College, including instructors for online and virtual courses, must be residents of Maryland or the contiguous states of Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia or the District of Columbia; non-residents are expected to relocate to meet this requirement.

Required Experience |
Minimum of three (3) years of work experience in college admissions and one (1) year of supervisory experience

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities |
- Ability to design and execute recruitment plans aligned with enrollment goals, especially within community college settings.
- Ability to engage effectively with diverse populations and underserved communities; understanding of equity-focused practices in student recruitment.
- Ability to coordinate and oversee programs and outreach events
- Ability to assist in the development of marketing materials
- Proficiency in CRM and SIS platforms.
- Proficiency in operating computers and related software, printers, and other standard office equipment.
- Knowledge of, and ability to apply applicable policies, procedures, and/or practices
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
- Ability to communicate effectively to multiple audiences (e.g. internal, prospective students/families), both verbally and in writing
- Skill in utilizing sound judgement to make effective decisions
- Skill in organizing, evaluating, and analyzing complex information

Preferred Qualifications |
- Prior work in a community college or open-access institution with a mission-driven approach to student access and success.
- Experience supervising professional staff.
- Master's degree
- Knowledge of federal regulations related to international students (e.g., SEVIS) and ability to serve as a Designated School Official (DSO).
