Job Summary:

The Division of Intercollegiate Athletics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison dedicates itself to the mission of providing athletic opportunities to a wide range of students in an environment in which all student-athletes can achieve their academic and competitive goals. The Division strives to provide equitable opportunities for all student-athletes and fosters the principles of sportsmanship, respect and fair play on the field of play. The Division sponsors teams in 23 sports competing under the regulatory guidelines established by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), the Big Ten Conference, the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) and the Intercollegiate Rowing Association (IRA).

Responsibilities:

Under the direct supervision of the Sport Administrator for Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving, lead a Division I Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving program in accordance with NCAA, Big Ten, and University regulations.

Primary responsibilities include the following:
- Teaching and instructing student-athletes in the fundamentals of Division I Collegiate Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving
- Provide guidance, motivation and leadership development to student-athletes
- Attend all competitions, including travel to away competitions throughout the competitive collegiate season and summer nationals season
- Organization of data and analytics
- Equipment management
- Execute national and international recruiting
- Additional areas of responsibility may include: planning and conducting team practices, individual skill instruction, departmental collaboration, performance of administrative, academic and public relations duties, and other duties as assigned by the Sport Administrator.

Education:

Required
Bachelor's Degree


Qualifications:

- Elite collegiate swimming and/or diving experience preferred.
- Minimum four (4) years of collegiate or professional swimming and/or diving coaching experience is preferred.
- Ideal candidates should demonstrate the following:
* Ability to foster athletic development and success while maintaining a strong emphasis on the personal development and academic achievement of student-athletes;
* Ability to work cooperatively and build strong working relationships with diverse groups including administrators, faculty, staff, students and alumni
* Ability to develop student-athletes' skills to maximize performance
* Strong leadership interpersonal and communication skills
* Work well independently and in teams
* Ability to be flexible in accepting new responsibilities.
* Excellent communication skills to work with student-athletes, other coaches, support staff and administrators
* Knowledge of and experience with NCAA and Big Ten rules.
* Administratively self-sufficient. Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and web applications.
* Familiarity with Teamworks Hub, and related applications is preferred.

It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location.

Conditions of Appointment: This is a 100% Limited appointment. Salary will be assigned within the appropriate range, commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and experience. An excellent benefits package is also included.
