HJF is seeking a Project Manager I to drive completion of key deliverables and stated objectives for multiple research projects within the Divisions of the Military Child and Family Research, and Pediatric Health Systems and Clinical Epidemiology at the Uniformed Services University. The successful candidate will undertake activities to ensure project workflow and progress toward milestones that adhere to project timelines and statements of work.

The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine (HJF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing military medicine. We serve military, medical, academic and government clients by administering, managing and supporting preeminent scientific programs that benefit members of the armed forces and civilians alike. Since its founding in 1983, HJF has served as a vital link between the military medical community and its federal and private partners. HJF's support and administrative capabilities allow military medical researchers and clinicians to maintain their scientific focus and accomplish their research goals.


Responsibilities

  • Manages operational elements of multiple research projects, including:
    • Documents project scope and plan;
    • Confirms and monitors objectives, technologies, schedules, milestones and deadlines, funding, and available resources with key stakeholders.
    • Produces and maintains Gantt charts, statement of work documents, and other project management tools.
    • Produces and distributes project status reports and documents.
  • Communicates and collaborates with others, including Principal Investigators (PIs), project team members, and other key stakeholders about project requirements and objectives.
  • Interfaces with external collaborators to facilitate multi-site and collaborative research activities.
  • Documents and evaluates existing processes, procedures and guidelines, making recommendations for enhancements and improvements to PIs and supervisors for decision-making.
  • Provides regulatory support throughout the life-cycle of study protocols under the direction of study PIs. Includes the preparation and management of submissions, correspondence and renewals in conjunction with the USU institutional review board and any partner site IRBs.
  • Prepares, submits and manages new data sharing agreements and renewals in coordination with stakeholders.
  • Coordinates annual event(s) highlighting the research of the Pediatrics department.
  • Coordinates and leads project and divisional meetings as necessary.
  • Manages supplies, equipment, and office space necessary for the completion of projects.
  • Assists with project spending including acquisitions and travel costs. Assists Program Manager with project budget reports as needed.
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor. This may include attendance of and participation in required training for the role.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree; Masters Degree preferred
  • Minimum of 0-2 years experience required

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Working knowledge of a variety of software including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and tools for proposal/project tracking
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, schedule, and coordinate activities to meet deadlines
  • Solutions-oriented, with the ability to identify challenges and propose multiple solutions for consideration
  • Ability to communicate clearly in writing and conversation
  • Works well with others, and can successfully motivate staff to deliver results as a team
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a T1/Public Trust background check.

Work Environment

  • This position will take place primarily in an office setting.

Compensation

  • The annual salary range for this position is $57,650-$70,000. Actual salary will be determined based on experience, education, etc.
