Summary:

To effectively perform all of the required duties of the shipping associate position in an accurate, thorough and safe manner as outlined per the Carl Buddig and Company job description.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned on an as needed basis.

Work Environment:



  • Must be able to work in temperatures of 34 degrees or less.
  • Must be flexible and able to work as needed (currently 3 shifts).
  • Must be able to work in a high-speed environment.


Work Flow:



  • Identify and make up orders off a pick sheet.
  • Pick and stage outbound shipments.
  • Ensure outbound shipments are accurate and free from damage.
  • Stage a trailer to ensure that shipments are loaded properly and maximum loads are achieved.
  • Clear packaging area by securing and loading finished pallets, and moving empty pallets.
  • Maintain a safe work environment by watching out for foot traffic: following standards and procedures: and complying with legal regulations per all forklift operations.
  • Accomplish warehousing and organizational mission by completing related results as needed.
  • Use the scanner in the correct manner to properly scan and maintain accurate inventory levels.
  • Complete necessary forklift maintenance and associated reports to ensure maximum forklift performance and overall plant safety.
  • Maintain work area in a clean and sanitary manner.

  • Comply with all company policies and procedures as outlined per the Carl Buddig and Company employee handbook.
  • Take responsibility in your area of employment with Carl Buddig and Company for reporting, making recommendations, and correcting situations adverse to the company's best interest.
  • Take responsibility in your work area to produce a safe and quality food product.
  • Report all food safety-related problems to your supervisor, manager, or to the quality assurance department in order to initiate immediate action.
  • In the event that the person in this position is absent, he/she will be replaced by a person properly trained to perform such duties.



Qualifications

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below represent the knowledge, skill, and or ability required.   • Must be able to stand for 8-9 hours per day.
  • Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop and squat as needed for housekeeping responsibilities and other miscellaneous duties.
  • Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds.
  • Must be able to work 40 or more hours per week.
  • Must be able to work mandatory overtime if necessary.
  • Must have good hand/eye coordination.
  • Must adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).


Education and/or Experience:



  • Must have stand-up forklift experience.
  • Must have handheld scanner experience.
  • Ability to legally work in the United States is required.
  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • 2+ years of related work experience is preferred.
