Create and Edit Technical Documents: Develop clear, audience-specific technical documents using advanced tools, including technical bulletins, manuals, catalogs, and specification sheets. Proofreading and Review: Perform thorough proofreading to ensure documents are ready for review by appropriate personnel before reaching the end user. Information Research: Gather necessary information by consulting engineering documentation, interfacing engineers and subject matter experts, and collaborating with sales, marketing, and operations teams. Templates and Style Sheets: Primarily use existing templates and style sheets to maintain consistency in technical documentation. Content and Layout Improvement: Maintain and enhance the content and layout of company documentation files. Industry Standards Compliance: Adhere to industry-standard documentation structures and formats specific to the business segment. Continuous Improvement: Actively participate in and lead initiatives to improve quality and processes within the technical writing function. Standards Compliance: Ensure that all documents meet basic quality expectations, such as ISO and other relevant standards. Document Distribution: Distribute technical documents to internal and external customers as needed. Documentation Management and Mentorship: Maintain comprehensive records of technical materials, manage archives, and serve as a mentor for junior technical writers. Level 2:
Experience: 2-5 years of technical writing experience (or international equivalent) required. Skills: Proficiency in Windows PC, MS Office, and standard computer applications; ability to write complex technical documents and work with engineers and subject matter experts. Key Competencies: Strong organization, time management, attention to detail, proofreading, and communication skills (including strong English grammar and concise writing).
Level 3:
Experience: 5+ years of technical writing experience (or international equivalent) required. Skills: Proficiency in Windows PC, MS Office, and standard computer applications; working knowledge of programming (MySQL, PHP, Python), web server administration, and product/component processing required. Key Competencies: Expertise in planning, researching, and writing complex technical documents for multiple audiences; strong collaboration with engineers and subject matter experts; exceptional attention to detail and proofreading skills.
