Role Summary:

The primary focus of Financial Planning Specialist is developing, analyzing and reporting the financial business results for VWFS US and subsidiaries. The financial specialist is responsible for providing detailed management reporting, forecasting and financial analysis to VWFS US senior management and VW Financial Services (VW FSAG) for the purpose of evaluating business performance and financial results. Advanced knowledge of financial concepts, accounting standards, financial modeling and collaborative communication with various business units are critical to understand/explain variances and develop financial solutions.

Role Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for VWFS US's forecasting and reporting, including the development of models, tools, and analytics to enable advanced controlling techniques, the steering of business results, and reporting to VWFS US senior management and VW FSAG.



  • Development, coordination and presentation of all controlling related financial reporting: monthly forecasts, annual budgets, Business Financial Reviews, 5-year planning rounds, and ad-hoc requests.
  • Develop planning assumptions and timing requirements in coordination with various key business units (e.g. ensure data elements are provided on a timely basis between departments).
  • Provide detailed financial analysis of business results including recommendations regarding the accomplishment of objectives.
  • Review monthly financial statements and explain variances between actual and projected results.
  • Develop profitability analysis of wholesale, ancillary, service loaner, retail and lease business segments and products.
  • Explain company profitability including key performance indicators, ratio analysis, ROA analysis and profitability indicators.
  • Assist in the preparation of management meetings as needed, including Board of Director meetings.
  • Undertake special assignments including resolution of problems and assisting in the development of new processes and support systems.
  • Maintain and improve on the main financial model used for all financial planning and reporting.
  • Take initiative in process mapping and improvements in regards to time and resource management.



Qualifications
Required Experience:


  • 3 to 5 years of professional financial and accounting experience
  • Automotive Brand and/or Financial Services experience preferred.


Education:

Required -


  • Bachelor's degree in finance and/or Accounting


Desired -


  • Master of Business Administration (emphasis on Finance and/or Accounting)
  • Certified Public Accountant
  • Chartered Financial Analyst(CFA)

  • Analytical and conceptual thinking - using logic and reason, creative and strategic
  • Communication/Presentation skills - succinctly and effectively communicate complex data and concepts to high-level audiences including the CEO/CFO
  • Detail oriented with strong quantitative aptitude

  • Demonstrates commitment and ownership of work



Specialized Skills:

Required -


  • Financial modeling skills
  • Financial budget planning
  • Advanced Excel skills including macros or VBA, Microsoft Office


Desired -


  • Prior finance, accounting, and/or automotive business experience


Work Flexibility:


  • Minimal travel required
