Start Date ASAP Contract Sheppard Aircraft Maintenance Salary Range $41.25/Hour Posting Date 05/02/2025 Union Yes FLSA Status Non-Exempt Shift Work Possible FT/PT Full-time Relocation No Travel Possible Job Summary: M1 is looking for an Engine Mechanic who maintains J85 and PT6A aircraft engines at the highest quality and safety standards and maintains and assists in the maintenance and troubleshooting of engine related problems. Makes all proper entries in the aircraft maintenance records. Performs tasks under minimum supervision. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: * Disassembles, inspects and reassembles J85 and PT6A engines and engine components as required in the performance of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks. * Performs removal and reinstallation of engines on T-6 and T-38 aircraft. * Performs engine rigging tasks using the applicable technical data for both installed and uninstalled J85 and PT6A engines and required operational checks of installed engines on T-6 or T-38 aircraft. * In FLSU, remove and install off aircraft section, aircraft panels, engine bay panels, raise and lower windscreens, and position/tow aircraft on the sound suppressor/hush house or trim pad. * Completes all necessary manual and automated records required by USAF and Company directives. * Complies with the requirements of the FOD prevention, housekeeping, tool control, environmental and safety programs. * Follows technical data, manuals, regulations, and other maintenance directives as required. * Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications and Experience: Knowledge: * A working knowledge of the hand tools and hardware used in the maintenance of J85 and PT6A aircraft engines is required. Education: * Completion of high school or the equivalent is required. * Completion of specialized courses is desired. * The ability to read and write and to comprehend technical data is required. Experience: * Two (2) Years' of experience in engine teardown and rebuilding or related experience are required. * Possession of a valid driver's license is necessary to obtain flight line driving privileges Special Considerations: * Engine mechanics assigned to the test cell are required to obtain certification to run J85, and aircraft engines on AF 32ff4 test cells. Will be nm qualified for one (1) type aircraft if decentralized. Also, when decentralized, they will remove and replace boattails in support of T-38s. Page 2 of 2 Working Conditions: * Environment ranges from office to hangar and flight line and requires extensive climbing, standing, stooping, bending, pushing, kneeling, stretching, and walking demands. * Must be able to stand for long periods of time. * Must be physically capable of performing all assigned duties. * Normal color vision is required. * Must be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs M1 Support Services, headquartered in Denton, Texas provides a variety of professional, technical, and maintenance services to the Department of Defense and government agencies.
