The Opportunity:

The Design Ops team at State Farm is responsible for managing the internal brand design team's creative operations within Marketing and ensuring design excellence. Members of this team will help shape and drive team culture, design craft and priorities.

As a Design Ops Lead, you will report to the Brand Manager over Design Operations and partner with creative directors, copywriters, art directors, designers, and production coordinators. You will help enable the design team to focus their time on design and ensure a high bar for quality. You will also manage the process and prioritize incoming work from internal stakeholders across Enterprise.

The ideal candidate for this position will possess a strong understanding of the design process and experience working with creatives, experience consulting directly with internal stakeholders, and the ability to manage a variety of projects, large and small.



Responsibilities

What you'll be responsible for:

  • Collaborating with and supporting the design team in delivering high-quality design; acting as a bridge between the design team and internal stakeholders and agencies, being sure to connect all groups and ensure interdependences are understood and planned for effectively
  • Interfacing with and serving as a liaison between key stakeholders, agencies and creative teams
  • Providing stakeholders with visibility and updates of current projects, resource utilization, and team performance
  • Collaborating closely with the creative team to ensure clarity of the assignment, including technical specifications and mandatories
  • Forecasting ahead of and reconciling potential conflicts or gaps in project scope, capacity, and priority
  • Developing, managing, and bringing continuous improvement to processes that support the Brand Design team
  • Implementing or driving necessary changes to make sure creative teams are working at optimum efficiency
  • Leading or collaborating with creative leadership in key project decision-making, including requirements gathering, scheduling, resource allocation, and coordination of teams and approval processes
  • Managing large projects through all phases of development. Owning the creative lifecycle from requirements gathering through production and completion
  • Helping define and managing an efficient process for receiving and prioritizing design requests


Qualifications

Qualified candidates will possess the following:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3+ years in design operations/design production environment, design agencies, or design management OR clearly demonstrated related knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the above-mentioned tasks
  • Experience working with stakeholders to understand, scope and vet creative requests
  • Experience working with design teams, managing design workflows, and understanding how to integrate processes with creative minds
  • Thorough understanding of creative development processes
  • Ability to understand complex programs, scope and prioritize projects, define schedules, and work independently
  • A passion for continuous improvement (process, workflows, and efficiencies) that drives high quality design solutions
  • Exceptional relationship building and collaboration skills, attention to detail, and the ability to forecast ahead of needs
  • Experience with Workfront is a plus

  • Potential starting salary range: $78,081.25 - $124,425.78
    • Starting salary will be based on skills, background, and experience
    • High end of the range limited to applicants with significant relevant experience
