Deer Valley Resort is nestled in the Wasatch Mountains of Utah, in the historic mining town of Park City which has evolved into an exciting and diverse mountain ski town. PURPOSE OF POSITION: Deer Valley Resort is seeking a driven and experienced Industrial Engineer to lead cross-functional initiatives that elevate operational performance and enhance the guest and employee experience. This role plays a vital part in identifying and implementing data-driven solutions across departments, improving efficiencies through process design, technology integration, and on-the-ground project management. With a focus on continuous improvement and service excellence, the Industrial Engineer will contribute directly to Deer Valley's ongoing evolution as a world-class mountain resort.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operational Optimization & Efficiency
- Learn, analyze, then recommend efficiency improvements.
- Lead Industrial Engineering initiatives from strategy through execution, ensuring measurable, timely outcomes.
- Collaborate with department leaders, stakeholders, and external partners to identify process improvements that enhance service and team effectiveness.
- Apply engineering methodologies and quantitative analysis to optimize systems, staffing models, and logistics.
Process Design & Continuous Improvement
- Design and implement scalable, efficient processes across business units.
- Introduce new technologies and operational enhancements that support the resort's long-term goals.
- Develop training and onboarding resources to support adoption of new systems or workflows.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Change Management
- Build relationships across departments to gain insights and align efforts.
- Ensure that changes are integrated seamlessly into daily operations, enhancing both guest experience and employee satisfaction.
- Promote a culture of innovation, operational rigor, and continuous improvement.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, or a related field.
- 4-6 years of experience in industrial engineering or operations management; hospitality or resort experience preferred.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives in a dynamic environment.
- Experience with lean methodologies, process optimization, and continuous improvement frameworks.
- Familiarity with infrastructure development and field-based execution.
- Exceptional analytical thinker-proficient in data interpretation, process mapping, and performance measurement.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to influence and align cross-functional teams.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint); experience with project management tools a plus.
- Creative problem solver with a hands-on, collaborative mindset and a commitment to guest service excellence.
- Demonstrated success in driving operational excellence and measurable improvements.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- On-site role with time split between office work and operational environments.
- May require occasional travel across resort facilities.
- Evening and weekend hours may be necessary based on project needs.
PAY RATE:
- Pay: $80,000 - 100,000 per year
