JOB TITLE: Trail Technician Level 3
DIVISION: Mountain Operations
REPORTS TO: Slopes Maintenance Manager, Shift Supervisor, and Director of Mountain Operations
LOCATION: Solitude Mountain Resort
CLASSIFICATION: Full-time/ Hourly/ Season to Season
POSITION: Trail Technician Level 3, non-supervisory position that is responsible for mowing/brushing ski trails, Aebi operation, and snowmaking maintenance.
SPECIFIC JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Safety Consciousness is required
- Follows resort policies as described in the Staff Handbook
- Knows Solitude Mountain ski run names, locations, and fall lines
- Has the ability to lift 50lbs.
- Has the ability to safely use brushing equipment
- Has the ability to safely use chainsaw and has passed training
- Has excellent knowledge of Aebi equipment and operates safely and timely
- Changes out Aebi cutter teeth when lost, props up brusher attachment without fail
- Has the ability to operate excavators, does so safely
- Fuels, Defs, Greases, and Cleans Air Filters
- Inspects, cares for, and Cleans Equipment. Reports any issues to Fleet Maintenance
- Helps with snowmaking maintenance when called upon to do so
- Wears appropriate P.P.E. for job being performed, including but not limited to:
- Work Boots, Gloves, Hearing Protection, Helmet, Face Sheild, Chaps, High Visibility Vest, Mask, Pants.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Is responsive to direction and instruction during training and while performing assignments
- Safely operates equipment that the operator has been trained to operate
- Provides a quality product and has mastered techniques
- Quickly and accurately reports problems with equipment
- Assists mechanics and co-workers with minor equipment repairs
- Can lead brushing crew
- Can start snowmaking system to diagnose leaks
- Can safely change and service snowmaking hydrants
- Can safely change and service snowmaking pedestals, checks power is off without fail
- Is proficient in excavator, loader, tele handler, and aebi operations
- Assists Slopes Maintenance Manager with scouting brushing projects
- Maintains cleanliness of equipment and facilities
- Exhibits professional conduct and radio etiquette
- Takes responsibility of performed work

- Work schedules may include weekends, on call, and holidays
