The Client Platforms team is the foundation on which the future of Visa is being built. Containing Visa Developer (VDP), client onboarding platforms, Visa Partner and the Visa billing platform - this team handles crucial and needed global commerce platforms infrastructure and requirements. Started in 2016 with a handful of products and clients, VDP has exploded in growth passing 10 billion monthly API calls and thousands of clients. VDP is the face of Visa's digital strategy and is comprised of a developer portal, API gateway, and service components. Visa Partner helps thousands of clients begin their partnership with Visa, while enabling critical partner programs such as tap to anywhere and money movement. Client onboarding and billing are the backbone of how clients work with Visa, and this role helps make Visa the easiest place for clients to go to move money.

An essential element of our client experience includes our API platform (VDP) which is the key gateway to anyone who wants to build with Visa APIs. Thousands of clients and partners use our experiences, including major bluechip partners such as Wells Fargo, Netflix, and Google as well as new up and coming FinTech innovators such as Revolut, Square and Chime.

Essential Functions

As a member of the client platforms product team, the successful candidate will be responsible for helping strategize and execute on client experience initiatives for the Visa Developer Center (developer.visa.com). As the lead of this platform, the ideal individual will have experience managing a web platform, a passion for client experience, all with a lens to creating the best client experience for our developers.

The candidate should possess strong communication and leadership skills, with an ability to juggle various projects at one time. This includes requirements writing, managing backlogs, defining capabilities, and working closely with our stakeholders like technology, design, product, compliance and more. Aside from those basic skills, we are looking for someone who wants to make an impact and grow our Developer platform to become the first choice in payments innovation.

Specifically, the Product Manager will:

  • Build out a robust strategy for the growth of Visa Developer portal, including a 3-5 year strategy and vision.
  • Lead website and experience redesign initiatives end-to-end by partnering with client services, technology and design teams to create delightful and engaging experiences.
  • Gather and launch detailed business requirements and translate the needs to technology for development.
  • Manage a backlog of work, and translate experience needs from our supporting teams.
  • Perform user research, benchmarking and watch ecosystem trends to capture client needs and learnings to inform the product/web experience roadmaps
  • Write, edit and build content experiences on the website.
  • Apply strategic thinking to ensure our platform meets our internal and external client's needs.
  • Partner collaboratively with cross functional teams to deliver the roadmap and ensure partner success

You will work closely with Technology to:

  • Discuss and develop technology requirements based on translated business requirements and user experience needs
  • Build, test and launch new features
  • Participate in user acceptance testing
  • Own and articulate the backlog of work needed of the technology team
  • Prioritize feature delivery for each release

You will work closely with Design to:

  • Perform user research questionnaires, user testing scenarios, and research opportunities
  • Lead testing projects with the support of the UX team
  • Translate business requirements into design requirements for development of UI/UX mocks and user flows
  • Help dictate design backlog for website graphic and icon needs

You will work closely with Global Product to:

  • Develop a portal that meets the needs of over 150 product and solutions
  • Look for opportunities for shared services across the entire product suite
  • Understand user personas and any additional unmet needs for these solutions

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Qualifications

Permanent Authorization to work in the U.S. is a precondition of employment for this position. Visa will not sponsor applicants for work visas in connection with this position.

Basic Qualifications

  • 10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications

  • 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD
  • 5+ years post college experience, product or relevant functional management (sales, marketing or technology)
  • Customer-oriented mindset, knowledgeable in all client, customer and partner roles
  • Superior interpersonal and communication skills, including oral, written, and presentation skills.
  • Familiarity with APIs, developer tools, and emerging technologies
  • Support the development of the product roadmap to define and support the product goals and strategies
  • Knowledgeable on Visa's products and support the product team in driving the development of product features and functionality, leveraging the strong foundation of existing capabilities where appropriate
  • Understand and able to research market trends, competition, and user requirements (primary and secondary research methods)
  • Collaborate with cross-functional internal Visa teams e.g., regional teams, technology, client services, other Visa product teams, risk, and other applicable groups) to define and execute a cohesive strategy related to a specific product or feature
  • Works closely with manager and leadership to complete projects
  • Successfully apply structured and critical thinking to ambiguous problems (small, fast-moving initiatives or large, multi-dependency initiatives). Use data to prove or disprove hypotheses and inform solutions set
Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 131,400.00 to 211,950.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
