Job Title: Staff Engineer II

What you'll do: As a Staff Engineer II you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing Microsoft Intune solutions, Windows 10 and 11 provisioning, ActiveDirectory group policies, to ensure solutions are safe, secure, compliant and reliable for client-based End-User experience (physical and virtual) and core organizational functions. You'll identify develop and support needs, as well as taking on design responsibilities supporting project tasks. As the Staff Engineer, II, you'll facilitate dialogue and activities to ensure team collaboration including teams outside of your domain. You'll develop effective presentations and narratives for their teams. Designs, reviews, deploys, supports and manages systems and configurations for hardware (Windows), software and new Cloud-based virtual machines. Major systems supported by the team include, but are not limited to Microsoft Intune, Microsoft MECM, Teams, Outlook, OneDrive, and all updates for client software to ensure they function as expected on all supported hardware and virtual systems. Applies proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve issues to maximize the benefit of IT systems. This role will also mentor and provide guidance to support junior staff.
- Leads the strategic planning of a project as it relates to technical solution design.
- Designs and implements engineering principles aimed at reliability practices and sound recovery procedures.
- Designs, reviews and deploys new updates and enhancements to existing systems, software and operating systems
- Develops and maintains MECM policies for application deployment , device compliancc and security configurations including system configurations and procedures while also ensuring compliance with IT policies, procedures, and industry standards. Develop desktop procedures when needed that others follow.
- Performs installation, configuration, testing and maintenance of operating systems, software and systems management tools
- Conducts research on software and system products to justify recommendations and to support purchasing efforts
- Knowledge of VDI such as Microsoft AVD
- Expert level knowledge of Active Directory and AZURE AD
- Expert experience with MECM (SCCM) including package deployment and patch management
- Create and manage MECM policies for application deployment, device compliance, and security configurations.
- Knowledge of creating semi-complex packages in MECM/Intune
- Assesses the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems; develop and implement strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems
- Ensures compatibility and interoperability of in-house computing systems
- Coordinates and performs in-depth tests, including end-user reviews, for modified new systems
- Collaborates to create configuration design for implementation of various business needs for End User Computing
- Monitors and tests system performance; prepares and delivers system performance statistics and reports
- Provides guidance and assistance to team members
- Serves as a mentor to other team members. Shares expertise and best practices as well as acting as a subject matter expert
- Maintains systems to be in compliance with audit and regulatory requirements

What you'll need:
- 7+ years of related experience IT App Support, IT Development, IT Networking, or similar field.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field required or High School Diploma or GED with 5 years of related experience.
- Previous leadership experience preferred.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of general Financial Services or Banking is preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards and practices.
- Advanced proven experience in leading cross-functional teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously. Additional experience with pipeline development and leveraging Azure DevOps while working on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Advanced ability to see the big picture and align projects with organizational goals. Capable of leading and motivating cross-functional teams. Expertise in resolving conflicts and addressing challenges as well as skilled at identifying and mitigating risks at the project level. Proficient in governance patterns tied to intake, technical reviews, and architectural compliance
- Proven experience in overseeing the design, development and implementation of software systems, applications, and related products. Preferably in Infrastructure systems (End User, Servers, and Cloud systems configurations and performance tuning) Also, installing, configuring and operating software packages for Windows systems
- Advanced experience with systems planning, security principles, and general software management and hardware best practices
- Certifications such as Microsoft AZURE Fundamentals (AZ-900), PowerShell, MECM, Intune, Cloud Certification are strongly preferred or equivalent experience in using/supporting the associated tools
- Ability to conduct research into systems issues and products as required
- Proven ability to communicate across all levels of the organization is necessary. Must be able to clearly articulate technical ideas and concepts to a non-technical audience both verbally and in writing
- Highly self-motivated and directed with attention to detail. Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Advanced knowledge and experience in a wide range of technologies such as Microsoft Windows, Intune, Active Directory, VDI, user and group management, etc.
- Advanced experience with Power Shell scripting and GPO distribution
- Advanced experience with Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager or MECM to create and deploy packages for Windows
- Experience with collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams
- Advanced problem-solving and/or troubleshooting skills with the ability to provide clear instructions
- Proven analytical and creative problem-solving abilities, including identifying complex problems, reviewing information and evaluating options to resolve issues is essential
- Ability to work in a team-oriented and collaborative environment
- Ability to prepare communications, reports, proposals and presentations using graphs, pivot tables, charts and other tools
- Must pass a background check and drug screen
- May require up to 25% travel.
