Position Summary As the Heat Treat Process Control Engineer you will be part of a dynamic technical team driving NADCAP and customer compliance, manufacturing efficiency, and productivity in a plant environment. Problem Solving You will be responsible to research, select and implement solutions to a variety of problems using logical and analytical engineering techniques. Communication You will collaborate and communication with various levels of the organization including production employees, supervisors, peers and subject matter experts. You will have the opportunity to present internal presentation and reports complex in nature to various members of leadership. You will participate and represent PCC on vendors and customer communications. Leadership & Teamwork You will lead small groups and be a resource for the manufacturing workforce. You will be responsible for managing your project budgets and keeping your projects on track. Autonomy You will receive general guidance on project work. You will have many tools, resources and experienced engineers to guide you and help you achieve your project objectives. Job Functions Improve the safety of the plant Responsible for setting the specification for the processing of parts through their area of focus Become a subject matter expert for their area of responsibility Learn JMP and Statistica Track department metrics and develop plans/execute plans to improve these metrics Use statistical process control to monitor the performance of the area and react to out of control conditions Reduce scrap and rework caused by their area of focus Work with Manufacturing Engineering to improve equipment functionality and implement new equipment Interface smoothly with other departments to develop joint plans for resolving parts problems. Work directly with multiple teams to successfully achieve varied goals. Perform audits to evaluate the conformance of the operations team to procedures and develop containment plans Run experiments to reduce process variability and reduce manufacturing costs Work closely with and favorably represent PCC with customers and suppliers. Maintain project plans and meet project deadlines Logical and analytical approach to problem solving Develop and maintain Process Maps, PFEMA's, and control plans Develop and maintain Process Control Procedures Experience & Education Bachelor's degree Materials Science/Engineering field (preferred) 3-5 years of experience in engineering related work Experience with data analysis and statistical process control Experience writing technical processing requirements for manufacturing or equivalent General knowledge of materials science engineering, manufacturing processes and investment casting technology Manufacturing experience Required Skills: Knowledge and demonstrated ability in engineering principles and disciplines Excellent communication skills verbal and written Demonstrated ability to communicate with various levels of the organization Demonstrated high degree of objectivity and integrity in the evaluation of people and problems Demonstrated ownership of an area and while partnering with other stakeholders Experience with data collection and analysis using excel Desired Skills: Process development or Process Control of Heat Treatment of metal parts Participating in and/or leading technical audits Excel, JMP, Minitab, Webfocus and/or Statistica PFMEA, Control Plan, process mapping Python, VBA, Ignition and/or PLC programing Dashboarding and Statistical Process Control implementation and sustainment Investment casting experience All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran.
