Overview (Scope of Role)
The Commercial Director, Engineered Solutions (Americas) for the Americas will lead our sales and new business development efforts for our Engineered Solutions segment across the region. This strategic leadership role will be responsible for driving revenue growth, expanding market share, and developing high-level business strategies to establish and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of deep commercial acumen, strong leadership skills, and a proven track record in managing and growing sales teams while identifying new business opportunities.



Responsibilities

Develop and implement sales strategies: Create comprehensive sales plans and strategies to drive revenue growth and expand markets. Identify target markets, key customers, and sales channels to effectively reach clients

Relationship management: Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients to ensure customer satisfaction, retention, and upselling opportunities. Collaborate with other departments, such as marketing, new business development and customer service, to align strategies and deliver a seamless customer experience.

Team management: Lead and mentor the Sales team. Set performance goals, provide guidance, and foster a high-performance culture.

Pricing and contract negotiation: Develop pricing strategies based on market conditions, customer demands, and profit margins. Negotiate contracts and agreements with customers to ensure mutually beneficial terms.

Marketing and branding: Work closely with the marketing team to develop effective marketing campaigns, promotional activities, and branding initiatives.

Risk management: Identify and mitigate commercial risks, such as market fluctuations, regulatory changes, and competitive threats.

Sales process optimization: Continuously evaluate and improve sales processes and methodologies to enhance efficiency, productivity, and customer satisfaction. Implement sales automation tools, CRM systems, and performance metrics to streamline operations and monitor sales activities

Financial management: Set and manage budgets, track financial performance, and implement cost-saving measures to optimize profitability.

S&OP Process: Be an integral part of the process to drive business profitability while maintain highest level of service and quality

Reporting and analysis: Prepare and present regular reports on commercial performance, sales forecasts, market trends, and competitor analysis to the executive team.

Strategy development: Collaborate with the executive team to define the company's commercial goals and develop strategies to achieve them.

Market analysis: Support market research and analysis to identify market trends, customer needs, and competitor strategies. Use this information to develop competitive pricing and marketing strategies.



Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field. Master's Degree or an MBA is preferred
  • 15+ years of Sales / Account / Commercial management
  • Chemical Manufacturing / Plastics / Resins industry experience preferred
  • Strong people leadership experience
  • Ability to analyze market trends, identify opportunities, and develop effective strategies to gain a competitive edge.
  • Strong networking and relationship management skills to establish and maintain partnerships with clients, suppliers, and industry stakeholders.
  • Deep understanding of the industry in which the company operates, including market dynamics, customer needs, and regulatory requirements.
  • Track record of achieving and exceeding commercial targets and objectives.
