Overview:

We are seeking a talented, design-sensitive, and ambitious Project Architect to join our Public|Corporate (PC) architecture team and help shape the future of project design and execution in our group! In this role, you will be integral to our project teams in all stages of design. Our practice works on a wide variety of project types and scales for a variety of clients, so versatility to adapt to a diversity of collaborative design team settings is necessary. We are seeking someone who has a long-term desire and passion for project architecture and the technical side of our practice, although design and project management skills are also greatly beneficial.



In this role you will:

    Develop a thorough understanding of projects' design philosophy and provide major input in developing a design and building performance strategy and effectively convey this to assigned team members when appropriate
  1. Provide technical design input and support for the development of the entire design concept
  2. Be responsible for a project's technical design effort, subsequent detailed design development, project coordination and quality control efforts during all phases of project work, in close collaboration with Senior Designer
  3. Seek creative and innovative solutions to assigned tasks and develop appropriate research and documentation to support these solutions
  4. Actively collaborate with and coordinate work of consultants and knowledge resources to ensure the project deliverables are coordinated, integrated and support the design concept and performance goals of the project
  5. Contribute to the preparation of design documents and lead the detailed development of construction documents during all project phases, delivering complete, accurate and coordinated project documentation
  6. Advance the production of schematic, design development and construction documents drawings and specifications in compliance with project scope, schedule, cost and design intent
  7. Maintain awareness of evolving building technology and systems
  8. Review shop drawings, material samples and CD's for conformance with design
  9. Perform construction administration duties (e.g. RFI's, RFP's, change orders, etc.), prepare reports and specifications; review completed reports, plans, cost estimates and calculations
  10. Execute applicable agency review analysis (accessibility, zoning, life-safety, etc.)
  11. Establish architectural budget, task schedule and other components of the project work plan in collaboration with Project Manager
  12. Implement meeting objectives, facilitate meetings and provide meeting notes documentation
  13. Maintain contact with clients, consultants and contractors during all project phases, participating in marketing, client and owner presentations as required
  14. Set an example for team effort through the spirit of cooperation while directing, organizing and mentoring junior staff


You will need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree in architecture; master's degree preferred
  • Architectural licensure required
  • LEED or other sustainable certification accreditation preferred
  • 7-15 years of experience and includes working on small- to large-scale project types
  • Strong graphic and verbal communication skills are an essential
  • Proficiency with Revit and other industry accepted software including Microsoft Office Suite is essential
  • Proficiency with Bluebeam, Adobe Creative Suite (i.e. InDesign, Photoshop) and project management software is preferred
  • Understanding and experience in some combination of workplace, advanced manufacturing, life science/lab, local/regional government, mixed use, hospitality, or related work is preferred


Salary Information:

The pay range listed aligns to the geography of the office for which this position is posted. Actual compensation will be based upon work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Individuals in this role working more than 24 hours a week on a regular basis are eligible to participate in HGA's robust benefit programs which include an annual bonus and success sharing bonus program, 401(k) guaranteed contribution, paid parental leave, medical, dental and life insurance plans as well as PTO and short- and long-term disability programs. Salary Range: $77,100 - $103,400
