Overview:

The Process Engineer will provide process engineering support for project development and field operations.

Principle Accountabilities:

  • Use technical knowledge to perform engineering assignments with guidance and direction.
  • Support for relevant technical matters with external bodies such as vendors, contractors, national approval agencies, and other stakeholders.
  • Support across business operations and contributing specialized knowledge.
  • Endorsing the relevant technical sections of the key Company Governance Documents including Project Execution Plans, Basis of Design, Asset Reference Plans, as-build documentation reviews, etc.
  • Awareness of procurement, tendering, and contractual terms, conditions, and relevant procedures.
  • Participating in technical integrity processes audit and reviews, including HAZID, HAZOPS, safety critical reviews, risk assessments, design, constructability, and operability reviews.
  • Provide process engineering assistance during FAT, commissioning, and facility start-ups.
  • Developing Brownfield and Greenfield project scopes from a processengineering perspective.
  • Provide process engineering support on new facility concept and designdevelopment. Present conceptual process designs and debottlenecking opportunities and benefits to senior mgmt. to help secure project sanctioning.
  • Provide detailed engineering support on relevant strategic and MOC projects. Work with engineering contractors during the project execution phase.
  • Be able to perform relief and blowdown calculations, process simulations, heat and material balances, process equipment, piping and controls sizing and rating calculations, etc.
  • Maximize capacity utilization by challenging design and operating assumptions.
  • Drafting process ideas to reduce costs and improve production rates.
  • Ensuring processes comply with safety and quality standards.
  • Provide process engineering assistance with facility troubleshooting investigations.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Relevant Engineering Degree & Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering or Process Engineering
  • Proven work experience as a process engineer.
  • Experience with process simulations and standard operating procedures.
  • High-level knowledge of process engineering software systems.
  • Advanced technical skills.
  • Analytical thinker.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in process engineering in the Oil & Gas industry
  • Knowledge of relevant ASME, API, and Standard Industry codes and best practices.
  • Basic knowledge of project management, cost estimation and value added economic evaluations
  • Understanding of major process equipment such as pumps, compressors, exchangers, and pressure vessels.
  • Understanding of process and safety control systems
  • Ability to read and understand P&IDs, PFDs, and equipment data sheets.
  • Knowledge of upstream production and gathering systems (production manifolds, separation, compression, gas dehydration, and produced water treatment.)
