We are seeking an experienced Senior System Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and management of complex IT infrastructure. This role is responsible for ensuring system stability, optimizing performance, and driving technological advancements to meet business objectives.

Compensation & Benefits:

Estimated Starting Salary Range for Senior System Engineer: Pay commensurate with experience.

Senior System Engineer Responsibilities Include:



  • Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of system architectures for complex infrastructure projects.
  • Perform system integration, configuration management, and troubleshooting across multiple platforms.
  • Analyze and resolve system performance issues, ensuring the highest level of reliability and efficiency.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to define system requirements, capacity planning, and performance metrics.
  • Develop and implement security protocols, backup strategies, and disaster recovery plans.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership in systems design and implementation.
  • Automate system monitoring, maintenance, and reporting tasks to increase operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to enhance system security and compliance.
  • Ensure systems are up-to-date with patches and security updates in accordance with best practices.
  • Provide 24/7 on-call support for critical system issues when necessary.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned



Senior System Engineer Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:



  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 10+ years of experience in system engineering, with at least 3 years in a senior/lead role.
  • Expertise in system administration, configuration management, and troubleshooting (Linux, Windows, or both).
  • Strong experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
  • Proficiency in scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python) and automation tools.
  • Strong knowledge of networking, security protocols, and system monitoring tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills. Security+ CE preferred.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and automation tools.
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
