Position Summary
THIS IS A TIME-LIMITED POSITION WITH AN ESTIMATED DURATION OF 2 YEARS.

The position is for a research technician at the contributing level and the purpose is to support molecular and cellular neuroscience research aimed at understanding the mechanisms of brain development and neurodevelopmental disorders. Main job duties will include assisting with in vitro and in vivo molecular and cell biological experiments using a wide array of approaches including mouse genetic models, advanced live imaging of cell and molecular dynamics, in utero electroporation, single-cell transcriptomics, proteomics, and CRISPR-based gene expression manipulation. Other duties of the position include routine lab maintenance and management, effective transgenic mouse colony management, and supervision of undergraduate work-study student aids. Exposure to and training in advanced cell biological, live imaging, and gene manipulation techniques will be provided. Data are to be reviewed with the PI and other lab supervisors and presented at lab meetings. Lab provides a strong mentoring and training environment. Ideal for candidates interested in training as research lab managers or eventually pursuing a doctoral degree in Neuroscience, Biomedical Sciences, or Medicine.
