As a result, an on-call position is available for an Aviation Financial Specialist to work with our growing Aviation team and to help keep our projects running smoothly. This person will be expected to report to an office in Chicago, Illinois.

Responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing airport financial statements for compliance with FAA guidance and regulations and standard accounting practices
  • Working with airport clients and governing bodies to perform project accounting audits
  • Providing and helping to implement best management practices for financial and accounting practices with airport clients and governing bodies.
  • Leading, mentoring, or assisting economic impact analyses, financial analyses, and/or other financial impact assessments for airport master plans
  • Compiling financial documents for grant accountability
  • Other duties as assigned.

The hours required per week for this position will fluctuate based on work needs, varying weekly from 0 to 30, potentially sometimes more than 30, and may occasionally exceed 40 hours. Since this position is part-time, there are no benefits. Travel to client sites and overnight stays may be required.

The successful candidate must have all the following:

  • A bachelor's degree or higher in accounting, finance, business administration or a related field from an accredited college or university
  • At least 8 years of relevant technical experience
  • CPA license

The ideal candidate will have any/all the following:

  • At least 20 years of experience with airports or the FAA in accounting
  • Willingness and ability to take on tasks, large or small
  • Contribute to the culture of the office and Mead & Hunt
  • Quick learner

Hourly Rate Range: $70.00 to $80.00 - Actual compensation may vary due to other factors such as: experience, skill set or location.
